If by the two cache files, you mean the weather.daily.html and the weather.hourly.html, I did delete both of them. I then turned on script blocking in NAV, renamed the script, relaunched the client program, and waited for NAV to popup the screen asking for permission to allow the script to write the temp files. Never got the popup. Looked for the new files -- not created. Turned off script blocking, ran the client again -- still no files.

Also, there only two instances of "www.weather..." in the script file and yes, I changed them both to "w3.weather...".

What really mystifies me is why I can't save the web-page manually!! I tried saving the same web-page on a machine running Win2K and it worked OK. So, I'm wondering if it's some kind of obscure Win XP setting -- but I don't see how that can be the case since I can save other web-pages. I just can't save web-pages from weather.com!

Well, first off, I had problems similar to you guys with my weather script, know what fixed it? Changing the address to http://beta.weather.com/.... Weird huh? Anyway, what do you guys think of this Studio28-based script? Using the logo of KoL's page that he was kind enough to give me :ninja: , I have it in the upper corner now, but it will fit anywhere at the top and look good. Also, almost forgot, the config was based off a good one by arael01 by the name of Fury Biohazard. Got it over at Deskmod.

But your trick didn't work, could someone with a big heart post their two cache files perhaps? And in what folder is these files supposed to be created?

Posting my cache files wont help you, unless you live in the same zip code as I do. The files are created in the same folder as your script is. Make sure all your directory links point to the correct folder. If the weather script cant find the folder path, it wont give you any messages. It will simply refuse to download the cache files.

Awgh crap, I am pretty sure I got the paths right, I am experienced in editing config files. :p

Anyways, since I gave up getting weather on my desktop, I made a new config.

I'm not sure if it works a 100%, but the idea is that the upper bars are to function as "LEDs";

so that when the system comes under load one of them will flash up. I've got two HD's, so the

HDD LED my be a bit to flashy for some configs.

I'm just too tired of all the cluttered configs, and wanted to create something effective.

Hi. Has anyone here been able to get the latest version of the CNN news headlines script to work? I got it off samurize.com. In the config, I have the "writefile" ( which downloads the headlines) set to run every 5 minutes. I then have my other cnn scripts, such as Top Stories and US News set to run every 5 minutes as well. When I run Samurize client, it is able to write and download the cnn headlines into the cnntemp file, but after that, it never updates again. I keep seeing the same news headlines for days with no update.

I am able to get it downlaod new headlines if I 1) delete the old temp file and 2) Open the client.exe up again, fresh. I simply cannot reload the script, it makes me delete the tempfile and then reload the entire client.exe, before it will download a new CNN headline temp file and load it.

Got any ideas how to fix this? I am using the latest verion, .90. I also had this in .85.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
