Hi I hope someone can help.

I have just spent the last few hours formatting and reinstalling Windows XP-Pro SP2. I did a little web browsing prior to updating using both IE6 and Firefox they were both running normally. I used IE6 to check updates at Microsoft, then I applied all the updates via Autopatcher, Core, June and July.

I have now just tried to access Microsoft Update Via Control Panel's Add Software and it launched Firefox, Microsoft informed me I have to use IE to update so I went into IE6 to update.

I went to Tools - Windows Update and it launched Firefox. I then tried some Favorites, they opened up in Firefox, IE6 remained blank. I typed in some URLS, they too launched in Firefox, IE6, then thew up 50+ windows and crashed my computer, I had to do a Physical Reset. This behaviour now happens everytime I use IE6.

Help please, what has Autopatcher done and how can I fix it?
