WHY MUST YOU POOP ON OUR DREAMS!

If it is going to happen, we wont be hearing about it for a year at least, lol.

it all hinges on Sally Sparrow really...if Carey agrees to return its game on!

So. Farewell then #Doctor_Who -- full story on the chaos at the BBC (and in the Tardis) in the new issue of Private Eye.

I hope the headline is just for attention grabbing and not something too serious!

Series 6 is barely off our screens (and not even finished), but we already have a little piece of news for Series 7.

Writer John Fay is going to be penning an episode from the series, according to his online CV.

Fay is new to Doctor Who, but he wrote two Torchwood: Children of Earth episodes (Day 2 and 4) and also episode 9 (The Gathering) of the forthcoming Miracle Day.

Filming on Christmas special is thought to begin next month, with Series 7 to follow not too long afterwards.

Also, wtf? Moffat got death threats after AGMGTW:

Doctor Who' showrunner Steven Moffat revealed on his twitter page he received a ''death threat'' after the midseason finale of the BBC sci-fi show aired on Saturday night (04.06.11).

'Doctor Who' showrunner Steven Moffat received a "death threat" after the midseason finale on Saturday night (04.06.11).

The writer-and-producer finally resolved a long-standing plotline in the episode when he revealed the character River Song (Alex Kingston) was the adult daughter of married couple Rory Williams and Amy Pond - played by Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan respectively.

However, not every fan of the BBC sci-fi series was impressed with the reveal and several took to twitter to call for Moffat's demise.

He tweeted: "Only one death threat, two demands for my immediate resignation, and two for my suicide. IT'S A HIT!! (sic)"

Moffat was unapologetic to fans who complained they had guessed the true identity of River - who has been a recurring character in 'Doctor Who' since 2008 - before the episode, entitled 'A Good Man Goes to War', aired.

The 49-year-old writer insisted he always wanted viewers to be able to guess the plot twist.

In another post on his twitter page, he wrote: "I'm sure a fair number DID guess. A twist should ALWAYS be guessable - in this case by 8 year olds (who were mostly way ahead!) (sic)"

When the series returns in the autumn, fans will see The Doctor - played by Matt Smith - battle Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

The next adventure - entitled 'Let's Kill Hitler' - will see the titular Time Lord crash-land in The Fuhrer's office and have to fight the former German leader, who was responsible for World War II.

"Programme chiefs in London were horrified to learn recently that BBC Wales is proposing not to make a full series of Doctor Who in 2012, but instead to put the programme on hiatus and merely bash out four ?specials? as it did in 2009."

I wouldn't be against specials or do it like Torchwood a weeks worth of episodes

The BBC have confirmed a seventh season today consisting of 14 episodes with Matt Smith as The Doctor.

Whether Gillan and Darvill will return or not is still not confirmed but they've recently both signed on to other projects...

I haven't liked this season much at all. It's getting too dark and convoluted, plus I've never cared for season long story arcs.

Get rid of the X-Files and horror stuff and go back to having fun adventures.

I agree. Things are getting too complicated. Just make them fun again.

    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
    • Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
