The comparisons to Photoshop need to stop. Paint.Net isn't meant to reach that level of editing. It's meant to be a quick editor with some advanced features. It's a small package with a lot of kick.

AGREED!!!

I use paint.net as I no longer have a fireworks license and find photoshop too complex.

My only real gripe with the new build is there is no option to deselect, If I highlight something in Fireworks I can right click to deselect, in paint.net (from my experience) I have to drag quickly off the canvas to release and sometimes that drags things.

Another pet peeve is text isn't editable, it becomes static once you hit enter, whereas fireworks lets you re-edit and remove it.

Right! But for most users, Paint.NET would be enough to kill Photoshop.

Adobe is killing me only with the incredible  price of Photoshop CS3... And the complete Creative Suite is much, much worst. It's the BMW (read costly not quality) of software. In full honesty, that would be the kind of software that I would.... :shiftyninja: download and crack. But I don't, I gave some money to Paint.Net instead.

    • This is needed! Good to see them working on it. My solution up until now at work is to hide all MY folders, showing only the shortcuts, but linking my personal folders to the corresponding Libraries. Having this exposed in the Navigation pane of File Explorer means that I have easy nested access to my stuff, as well as all the shortcuts under the OneDrive folder when needed, often open as I only have about 10 or so linked sources.
