One Charge Dropped in Baby in Car Case

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A judge dismissed one of the charges against a woman accused of leaving her 1-year-old daughter strapped in a car seat overnight with the sun roof and windows open amid a violent storm.

Brandi Morgan, 25, of Pittsburgh, had been charged with reckless endangerment, child endangerment, leaving a child unattended in a vehicle and resisting arrest.

District Judge Eugene Ricciardi on Friday dropped the resisting arrest charge, ruling that if Morgan resisted it was likely because of her emotional state at the time.

A passer-by discovered the child rain-soaked, covered with leaves and dirt and wearing only a diaper at about 6:45 a.m. on July 18, police said. Morgan was found in an apartment across the street.

Morgan's attorney, Martin Dietz, said his client did not get home from work until well after midnight that night, unloaded some things in the house and fell asleep.

''She was, frankly, working very hard to provide for this child,'' he said.

The child was treated at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for exposure. She now is with relatives.

I love this "working very hard for their child" My Wife and I bust our asses every day for our kids and the thought of me even leaving my kid in a vehicle for more than 30 seconds is insane. For a stunt like this she needs to get the book thrown at her.

How would you like it if you have to go to jail for an honest mistake like that?

Also, as you stated, you are a husband with a wife. She seems to be single. Big difference.

And before you give grief about being single. It's not always the wife's fault.

    • Tim Cook: "The US over time began to stop having as many vocational kinds of skills." What's the point of wasting time getting those skills if you can't get a job with them? Good Lord, maybe he and his cohort of CEO's who exported all these jobs to China should just shut the f**k up :D

    • Closed-loop cooling and a custom 800G network protocol let the $7.3B campus run as one AI training machine. Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
