for those of you getting the limited edition...apparently the packaging they used sucks, and the disc might get dislodged and move around in the box, thus causing scratches. not good if you're getting it shipped. :(

Yeah I posted that in a new topic here before, but it got merged with the SP thread instead. Should have been merged to this one. Glad I pre-ordered the regular version too.

I wonder how many copies are affected. Someone also posted there how most of their LE stock was like this:

"It's about 95% in our stock that just turned up." :ermm:

Hooterville (what a cool name) of NeoGAF has posted up that a friend of his opened up 3 copies of the limited edition Halo 3 set and with all three copies both discs were loose upon opening the case and consequently scratched like crazy. The problem reportedly lies within the fact that there is a poorly made plastic nub and foam disc pad holding mechanism which results in the disc's becoming loose easily. $75 for this? No thanks. Warn other gamers and potential customers of this issue and DIGG THIS!!!.

A friend just opened 3 copies of Halo 3 Limited Edition and with all three copies both disc were loose inside of the package and scratched to death.

This Limited Edition has a **** poor plastic nub and foam pad disc holding design that is a major flaw and the discs pop off with ease.

Worse then the Prey Collectors Edition!!

If mine is like this I will keep returning it until I get one that is perfect and I think this will be almost impossible.

This is what you are going to see when you open your Halo 3 Limited Edition:

Both Discs Loose and floating around inside.

Any of you guys have LE to check?

I never buy anything other than the normal version. Very rarely have I paid more for a game for a few extras. Think the last game I bought with anything was Max Payne... it came with a mousepad :D Dunno if it was a LE, but I got it on release day in the states.

And no this isn't a bash at Halo before any of you start :ermm: . It's a fairly important to know IF the problem is widespread. Hope it's not though. This reminds me of the Big Daddy incident with Bioshock... When you pay extra for LE/SE you really should get your game in a gold plated box ;)

Seems Tesco are selling Halo 3 early too. I was at my local Tesco Extra at 3am this morning (don't ask)

Don't tell me been out for a drink and popped in to Tesco's for a few bottles? Only way to live! ;P

Anyway, I though Tesco's stored their copies under the shelfs before release?

Uh, something like that

So did I. But they had 2 shelves set up, price listing and it was even their 'game of the week'.

Damn, campaign was really short :( I finished it on normal in about 7 hours with a friend (co-op) (non-stop ofc :p) Good story though. Different ending to what I expected though. (Not really a spoiler, but some people might complain)

Now to play through on legendary and get the skulls. I'd be interested to see what the alternative ending for legendary is.

Woohoo! Play.com posted my copy yesterday, hopefully I'll have it for the 26th :bounce:

What version you got? I ordered the Lengendary edition and my order has changed from preordered to order placed so i guess i got in, now the question is when will i get it.

Checked with my local Gamestop to insure that my copy of Halo 3 Legendary is guaranteed; so far so good. They went on to tell me generically, that about 300 copies have been reserved at the store. Further north, at one of three stores near my college, 500+ reserves have been made.

Finish the fight, in the waiting line.

If nobody noticed, Microsoft's put up a portion of the Halo 3 manual in interactive (Silverlight) format here: http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/halo3.aspx

It's pretty slick, presented really well. There isn't any new information as far as I can tell.

O_O

I just checked out some of the new Bungie Online functionality. A word to the weary: DO NOT CHECK OUT THE HALO 3 STATS IF YOU ARE AVOIDING SPOILERS. There are lots of as-of-yet unrevealed things that you'll probably see. I don't want to name them explicitly as that would ruin the purpose of warning you, but let me just say that some of the things will surprise you, and you will love it.

I saw things I didn't want to see. Screenshots and other things, but I didn't even care. Because what I saw blew me away. Since I don't really know the context of things, the story will still be fresh. But oh man, I can't wait now.

edit:

Things things things things.

I didn't realize I said that so much.

    • "This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time" ... Lol.
    • This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time by Sayan Sen Recently we covered a really good deal on an AMD RX 9070 three-fan model that's available at slightly above its MSRP. If you are looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming that's around the performance of the Nvidia RTX 5070 you should most definitely check it out. Let's say that you are looking for a monitor to pair that up with too. The Samsung 49" G9 curved QD-OLED superultrawide is a good option that can provide an immersive experience. However despite being a very good deal currently (at $855), it may seem unaffordable to you, or you may simply not want to spend as much on a monitor. In that case Dell's S2725QS can be a very good option as it's on sale at the moment for its lowest price in over six months (purchase link under the specs table down below). The big highlight of the Dell S2725QS is its 27-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution, offering a high pixel density that can make text appear sharper while also providing plenty of screen space for productivity and media consumption. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through both HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable not only for everyday desktop use but also for smoother gaming and scrolling. AMD FreeSync Premium support is included as well, helping reduce screen tearing during gaming sessions. The screen has fairly good brightness and color accuracy so you can use it for general work purpose, though photo/video editing is probably not going to be the best match for this. The technical specs of the Dell S2725QS are given in the table below: Specification Value Viewable Screen Size 27 in (68.58 cm) Screen Mode 4K UHD Maximum Resolution 3840 × 2160 Maximum Preset Resolution 3840 × 2160 @ 120 Hz Standard Refresh Rate 120 Hz Panel Technology In-plane Switching (IPS) Backlight Technology LED Edgelight System Pixel Density 163 PPI Response Time 8 ms GTG, 5 ms GTG, 4 ms GTG Horizontal Viewing Angle 178° Vertical Viewing Angle 178° Brightness 350 cd/m² (nits) Native Contrast Ratio 1500:1 Color Support 1.07 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% sRGB (CIE 1931) Adaptive Sync AMD FreeSync Premium HDCP Support Yes Mount Type Panel Mount VESA Mount 100 × 100 mm Maximum Height Adjustment 13 cm Tilt -5° to 21° Swivel -30° to 30° Pivot ±90° Stand Adjustments Tilt, Swivel, Height, Pivot Glass Hardness 3H Horizontal Frequency 27–270 kHz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Vertical Frequency 48–120 Hz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Video Inputs 2 × HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3), 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3) Operating Temperature 0°C to 40°C Storage Temperature -20°C to 60°C Operating Humidity 10%–80% (Non-condensing) Storage Humidity 5%–95% (Non-condensing) Get it at the link below: Dell S2725QS 27-inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor: $218.49 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $280) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified.
