Just putting it out there that I don't mind playing Ranked or Social games, just whatever the rest of you guys are doing I'll join :)

Hopefully we can get plenty of matches going over the weekend!

I will be online as well tonite in both social & ranked matches send me an invite or friend request. I luv Halo multiplayer and cant get enough of it. :woot:

Game still isn't here!!! And it was posted a week ago! I am tempted just to go and buy it and then send the other back when it arrives, but it'll probably arrive as soon as I buy it.

Where did you buy from?

@ QuietStorm21A, if you are online I will send an invite :). I send invites out to everyone who is online on Halo 3 (and not busy with co-op) whenever we come to the end of a match

Completed it yesterday and it rocked my face clean off. I've had a quick dabble in MP and from what i've experienced so far that also is top dog. Guys feel free to add me, i'm sure to be on all weekend! GT is Sam Bambino & also Alshain Black. One is my bro's but I play on both.

I ordered it from Play.com, but they posted it a week ago, so it must be delayed in the post holding it up.

Hmm that's really weird. Has there been any recent post strikes in your area perhaps?

I'd give them a call if it doesn't come in tomorrows post (Y)

Even wierder: I just checked my Play.com account and it has it labeled as posted on 24th, when it previously had it as the 21st  . I'll probably wait till Monday to see if it arrives, as we don't get weekend mail. also I'll be getting Skate today so that will keep me busy, I guess. :alien:

Hmm strange indeed. Good luck with that though. You could always buy a copy from the shops and return the other to Play when it eventually arrives? Enjoy Skate though

My latest addition..

:woot: From this months Xbox 360 magazine if anybody cares to buy it also :)

This is official news:

Tonight I PWNED Halo 3 on legendary and got many achievements. I'm at 745 out of 1000. I loved campaign and now am online a lot more so I'll see you guys on. Three days with a Xbox360 and 980 gamer score total is not bad :p.

Haha, that's awesome man. Glad you enjoyed it. :D I'm always up to game, send me a FR. :)

well i just finished the campaign on normal, so i'll be playing online more often now. but if anyone would like to work on co-op on legendary, i'd be up for it.

Definitely, I have a couple of the missions done on Legendary, but I want to go through them all. Send me an invite anytime.

Thought this might have been the best Halo 3 thread to post in

Is anyone having problems with the hi res screenshots that they have taken, Ive took a few but when I check on bungie.net none are showing in my service record

First load one screenshot to your fileshare then all the other recent screenshots will update automatically it wont happen instant but it will show up i had the same problem but it was posted on bungie's website to do this to start connection going between the website & console. Hope that helps.

It is a shame, but imo I'd rather have jaggies and a smooth frame rate making a better experience overall. Same goes for games like Forza 2 which had quite a bit of jaggies but it was totally worth it for the smooth 60 FPS gameplay.

Bungie says:

One item making the interwebs rounds this week was the scandalous revelation that Halo 3 runs at ?640p? which isn?t even technically a resolution. However, the interweb detectives did notice that Halo 3?s vertical resolution, when captured from a frame buffer, is indeed 640 pixels. So what gives? Did we short change you 80 pixels?

Naturally it?s more complicated than that. In fact, you could argue we gave you 1280 pixels of vertical resolution, since Halo 3 uses not one, but two frame buffers ? both of which render at 1152x640 pixels. The reason we chose this slightly unorthodox resolution and this very complex use of two buffers is simple enough to see ? lighting. We wanted to preserve as much dynamic range as possible ? so we use one for the high dynamic range and one for the low dynamic range values. Both are combined to create the finished on screen image.

This ability to display a full range of HDR, combined with our advanced lighting, material and postprocessing engine, gives our scenes, large and small, a compelling, convincing and ultimately ?real? feeling, and at a steady and smooth frame rate, which in the end was far more important to us than the ability to display a few extra pixels. Making this decision simpler still is the fact that the 360 scales the ?almost-720p? image effortlessly all the way up to 1080p if you so desire.

In fact, if you do a comparison shot between the native 1152x640 image and the scaled 1280x720, it?s practically impossible to discern the difference. We would ignore it entirely were it not for the internet?s propensity for drama where none exists. In fact the reason we haven?t mentioned this before in weekly updates, is the simple fact that it would have distracted conversation away from more important aspects of the game, and given tinfoil hats some new gristle to chew on as they catalogued their toenail clippings.

True, but even with 640p it's still only 30fps. It's disappointing, but it's not a big deal really. I think PGR3 rendered at 600p or something too.

Rendering two frame buffers is no easy task. I'll take the full range dynamic lighting anyday over something that's unnoticeable.

Yeah that's where I read it. It's not the only game to use 2 frame buffers though, they could have upped it up to 720p if they turned down a few effects. The HDR does look great though.

Which other games? 2 frame buffers rendering the full dynamic range? Halo 3 has some of the greatest, if not the best, lighting I've seen in any game. But is the AA really bothering you that much? :s I hardly notice it while playing.

Not sure about the full dynamic range in other games, like I said, Halo 3 does have some awesome lighting so it could be why they had to lower the res. I do notice the aliasing, but I guess it depends on the TV. It's not that bad though, it doesn't distract from actual gameplay.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
    • Neowin is saying these are good prices? Thats crazy. As others have said they are just ######. Time for big tech to bring down the prices for real not this fake crap.
    • The iFlyTek AINote 2 is among the thinnest E-Ink tablets. It has an EMR stylus, a built-in fingerprint reader, and plenty of built-in AI features. You had me until "and plenty of built-in AI features." That and any company that still does the iProduct naming trope is an immediate pass. It suggests the company isn't very imaginative or creative and is trying to piggyback off another company's success. Extremely lame. Also kind of expensive. Better choices at lower prices out there.
