To be honest, this episode was dry, at least compared to the previous three episodes. The major thing IMO is the ending of course, but outside of that, I wasn't really shocked or excited. Hopefully next week's is better.

I thought it was great. Each segment we got at least some story advancement, and on lots of different fronts.

Though, a helicopter flying around for an entire day without running out of fuel is going to be very hard to explain.

Also, explaining why Jack doesn't want to see Aaron is going to be interesting. Is it because he finds out that Claire and Jack are siblings? Or is it because he does something to harm Claire and thats why Kate takes him? Or is it just because they left Claire behind?

3.2 million exactly is odd as well. I wonder who Miles owes money to.

I very much enjoyed, and for once in a long time a logical question was immediately asked: Why $3.2 million? Why not 3.3 or 3.4? But alas, no answer. I knew it was Aaron, especially how they didn't reveal the name until the very last second (duh). The helicopter not having made it to the ship, Kate is so wishy washy with whom she wants to be with, and why the heck does Jack not want to be around Aaron?? Maybe he's the "him" Kate referred to in the finale last season, but why would a four to six year old care about his Uncle Jack seeing his "mommy"? And what happened to Claire? How did Kate pass Aaron off as her son since there was no record of her being pregnant? Perhaps the "official" story is that the mother died, but he survived. Aaron looked about four or five (possibly three, I doubt it), so that gives us a better idea that it's likely 2007 or 2008, and this is pre-"We have to go back!"

Next week's looks pretty awesome. Great times, great times :D

Well from the preview the helicopter doesn't look like it's doing so well.

And atleast now we have some kind of timeline for the flash forwards.

Not really. Well, kind of. All we know is that the 4x04 flash forwards and 4x01 flash forwards were before 3x22. In both of those Jack was shown to be okay with lying about what happened on the island. In 3x22 he wasn't, which is saying that those are later. The Sayid flash forward could have happened at any time, we just don't know enough yet.

I thought it was great. Each segment we got at least some story advancement, and on lots of different fronts.

I'm the complete opposite. I don't think the story advanced that much. The big thing on the island that we learned that really means anything is that Ben has the ability to get his hands on $3.2 million. Other than that, the story didn't advance anywhere IMO.

We already knew Kate was free from the season three finale, so the trial was pointless IMO, it only allowed us to find out Kate had a son and then the big reveal at the end that it was Aaron. Which while that is big, they played that arc like it was something much bigger than it was. Sayid working for Ben was big, but not Aaron being Kate's son.

Also, explaining why Jack doesn't want to see Aaron is going to be interesting. Is it because he finds out that Claire and Jack are siblings? Or is it because he does something to harm Claire and thats why Kate takes him? Or is it just because they left Claire behind?
I think Jack did something or Kate did something to Claire that would make Jack feel very guilty if he saw Aaron.

I think you missed a lot then:

- Miles isn't in it for 'the cause', hes in it for himself

- Ben can still manipulate Locke

- the helicopter didn't make it to the boat

- the people on the boat didn't know 815 was there until the call

- the whole Kate-Sawyer situation

There are other small points that I'm forgetting at the moment

i agree that it was a less than intriguing episode. and at the first mention that kate had a child i knew it was aaron. that was obvious. so now, we have again the pairing of the individuals on the promo poster - kate and claire. i guess we can assume that claire is not one of the oceanic 6 but does aaron qualify seeing that he was born on the island and not a passenger(i guess technically he was a passenger but they didn't have to purchase a seat for him)

My guess is that Jack feels so guilty about leaving Claire behind.

There's got to be more to it than that. How did Kate get Aaron in the first place? I can't imagine she'd give him up so easily.

BTW would Aaron count as one of the Oceanic 6? :p He was on the plane technically.

Aaron isn't one of the Oceanic Six. And I'm saying that without spoilers. Making him one of the 6 would be completely disappointing. There are going to be another 2 major characters as the other ones of the 6.

Say there is a small boat. Only enough room for 6. Claire gives Aaron to Kate to get him off the island.

It was strange how the promos were saying "and another one of the oceanic 6 is revealed" well didn't we know Kate was one way back at last seasons finale?...

My prediction is Claire is either killed or can't leave the island in a new "purge".

-I never thought Miles was in it for the cause. I thought that was apparent when we saw him "ghostbusting". He's greedy. Miles is #1 in Miles' opinion.

-That's not really important IMO. Locke has never been a true leader and that was evident from him not being able to find the cabin.

-I'll give you that, but still didn't move the story that far though

-Huh? I missed something. What do you mean they didn't know? Jack told them last season that they were there. [EDIT] The only thing that is said is, "What friends?" in reference to Sayid and Desmond leaving the island in the helicopter. There's no mention that they don't know about 815 being on the island though.

-What Kate-Sawyer situation? They didn't do anything. We already knew that she has feelings for, he has feelings for her. She's always running, so nothing new to advance the story again.

Say there is a small boat. Only enough room for 6. Claire gives Aaron to Kate to get him off the island.

I don't know. I can't see myself giving my son up to a fugitive to get him off the island. And it doesn't fit Jack's reaction. He wouldn't be so against seeing Aaron if it were that simple.

-I never thought Miles was in it for the cause. I thought that was apparent when we saw him "ghostbusting". He's greedy. Miles is #1 in Miles' opinion.

Yes, but it was shown. Just because you thought it doesn't mean it wasn't an advancement.

-That's not really important IMO. Locke has never been a true leader and that was evident from him not being able to find the cabin.

Again, same thing. I don't think it is about Locke being a leader, btw. I think the island is having trouble showing him what to do because it is busy trying to protect itself from the newcomers.

-I'll give you that, but still didn't move the story that far though

Not being able to leave is a pretty big deal.

-Huh? I missed something. What do you mean they didn't know? Jack told them last season that they were there.

Miles tells Kate they looked her up when they got the first call. They looked up everyone after they got the first call. In other words, they didn't know what was going on on the island. They only knew about Desmond, not 815. We already knew that they weren't there to rescue them, but now we know they didn't even know they existed. Which brings up the question of who placed the fake plane. Everyone assumed the group on the boat and the group that did that are the same, but now it appears they aren't.

-What Kate-Sawyer situation? They didn't do anything. We already knew that she has feelings for, he has feelings for her. She's always running, so nothing new to advance the story again.

No, that was the end of Kate-Sawyer, IMO. Thats a big advancement.

I don't know. I can't see myself giving my son up to a fugitive to get him off the island. And it doesn't fit Jack's reaction. He wouldn't be so against seeing Aaron if it were that simple.

You are forgetting that they don't know what she did. Also, maybe Claire gave him to Jack. However, it would be hard to explain where the kid came from with him being a male, so Jack gives him to Kate to call her own.

And Jack would be against it if he was upset about leaving Claire behind.

Well now we know that she didn't have a kid with Sawyer so he probably isn't the "him" she was referring to but mostly likely it was Aaron. So I guess that kinda also reduces that chances that he is one of the 6.

The 'him' from 3x22 was Aaron. 'He'll be wondering where I am.' A kid would do that, an adult would call or be told before she left.

Showing the same thing that should already be known from a previous episode isn't an advancement. Just because they looked them up doesn't mean they didn't know about Flight 815 (there's nothing definitive to suggest they don't know about 815 though--as connected as Dharma is to the survivors I doubt that at least Naomi didn't know, let alone Frank). Remember Frank was suppose to be the pilot of Flight 815. There's more to that story than we know. Maybe Miles didn't know, but I think Frank knows more than we're being told. Regardless, I don't see that as an advancement to the story, so for me it was a dry episode.

Regardless of whether or not they know what she did, they don't she's a fugitive.

Jack said there were 8 survivors. They are claiming the people who stayed behind are dead. Aaron would have had to be born so Claire would have had to be one of those eight. Who is the other? Charlie? Because he talked to Penny?

In next weeks previews it showed Desmond jerking around the Physicist guy but it looked like the future. We saw that scientist at the beginning and he did not look well. What were the cards? Maybe he is getting early onset Alzheimer's and he went to the island to be healed?

Is Patchy really dead? :shifty:

One thing is for sure Patchy never dies!

It would almost have to be Charlie since he made contact with Penny.

Well it can't be any of the Others seeing as the island was supposedly deserted.

Also the kid looked like he was 2 at tops.

My guess is the chopper had to turn around and make another landing. Much like Desmond and his boat.

what an episode, i feel as if it is not kates baby but deffinitly claires. If claire does die i think that is a bit shocking, i think it would probably be better if she stays on the island and gives up her son rather than die, i was litterally shell shocked when kate said aaron at the end.

Possible reason why jack does not want to see aaron is that Claire and Jack are half brother/sister. Jack and Claire afterall do share the same farther. Again, more and more question but hardly any answers.

Loved what locke did to miles, his character is really standing out now, however sawyer is starting to get mushy as.

The oceanic 6 business is starting to get confusing. Jack did say there were 8 surivors so maybe there is the oceanic 8 but 2 die, not sure.

Grrr just want some more answers really not getting many at the moment and with the 6 week delay coming up soon it is going to **** me right off just waiting for them.

Painting by Aaron? Maybe a little to detailed for a child his age. It does look like that good ol' Dharma clip with the person on the bike.

It seems like people don't know that it was Claires baby otherwise Kate's mom wouldn't want to see him so badly.

    • This is about the EU given consumers options, Apple is all about not giving options and locking you into its own services, this hurts Apple far more than it hurts the EU market because it makes Apple products look less appealing by Apple refusing to offer its own service because they have to give options to rivals, the end results are consumers might look at alternatives like Android. It's a game Apple can't really win when there are alternatives and Apple will in time change course on this, until then, let Apple hurt themselves in the EU market.
    • Microsoft unveils new Surface Laptop with improved trackpad, Snapdragon X2, and more by Taras Buria Microsoft's new Surface Laptop Ultra generated a lot of buzz earlier this month, but in addition to its most powerful laptop with an NVIDIA chip, Microsoft also has a more affordable laptop lineup, which has been waiting for an update for quite a while. Today, Microsoft announced the eighth-generation Surface Laptop. The new Surface Laptop is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Plus and X2 Elite processors. These chips offer faster CPU performance, up to 58% faster graphics, and 80 TOPS Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for on-device AI processing. Like the previous models, these chips retain their great energy efficiency, and Microsoft says that buyers can expect up to 20 hours of work on a single charge. The laptop is available in two sizes: 13.8-inch and 15-inch. You will have a hard time finding visual differences between the new and previous models, as Microsoft is not taking any major design leaps, except for the new Jade color, which may look familiar to Surface Laptop 5 owners. Other colors include Platinum, Black, and Dune. The 15-inch variant got a higher-resolution display. It is a 3,270 x 2,180 resolution screen with a pixel density of 262 ppi (the 13-inch model has a 201 ppi density) and a maximum brightness of 600 nits SDR and HDR. Unlike the Surface Pro 12th-gen, which is available with optional OLED displays, the Surface Laptop sticks with IPS, a 1,300:1 contrast ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Another notable change in the Surface Laptop 8 is its trackpad. It now provides haptic feedback when you perform various actions in apps and the operating system. It is a relatively new feature that Microsoft brought to Windows 11 in recent updates, and it is only available on certain devices, such as the Logitech MX Master 4, Surface Slim Pen 2, the upcoming Surface Laptop Ultra, and now the Surface Laptop 8. The new Surface Laptop with the new Surface Pro Like its tablet-shaped sibling, the new Surface Laptop is notably more expensive. It starts at a $1,599 for a 13.8-inch configuration with a 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. However, in the US, the base model has double the storage while keeping the same price. Available configurations include up to 64GB of memory and up to 2TB SSD (user-removable PCIe Gen4). The Surface Laptop 8 is now available for purchase on the official Microsoft website.
    • Microsoft announces 12th-gen Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2 processors by Taras Buria So far, 2026 has been rich in Surface announcements. Microsoft started with a fresh lineup of Surface for Business devices powered by Intel's new Core Ultra 300 processors. Then the company revealed the Surface Laptop Ultra, its most powerful laptop with NVIDIA's RTX Spark processor. Now, it is time for new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models with Qualcomm processors. Microsoft's original Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X1 chips debuted in late May 2024. Two years later, Microsoft is finally updating the lineup with new models featuring Snapdragon X2 processors. The 12th-gen Surface Pro continues the well-established formula of Microsoft's flagship tablet, and Microsoft is not even changing colors, as the tablet will be available in three colors: Dune, Black, and Platinum. The most important changes are mostly hidden inside. Microsoft switched from the Snapdragon X1 to the new Snapdragon X2, which promises up to 53% faster graphics performance than the previous generation and up to 15.5 hours of battery life. The built-in NPU is also much more powerful, and it can run at up to 80 TOPS for on-device AI processing. Like before, the new Surface Pro is available with a 13-inch IPS display, and Microsoft is still offering OLED as a separate, more expensive configuration. Speaking of configurations, the Surface Pro will be available with a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus or a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite. Microsoft expanded the available RAM configurations to 64GB (previously 32GB was the maximum), while storage remains unchanged at 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of user-replaceable PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The new Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop Other specs remain mostly unchanged. The computer has the same 1440p Windows Hello webcam, two USB4 ports for charging, data, and display output, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support, dual speakers, and compatibility with Surface Pro Signature and Flex keyboards. With that said, there is one very important aspect of the Surface Pro that changed significantly, and it is the price. While the previous-gen Surface Pro launched at $999 for the base configuration, in 2026, the entry-level Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2, 16GB of memory, and 256GB will set you back an eye-watering $1,499. To sweeten the pill, Microsoft is running a limited-time promotion where Surface Pro buyers can get a free Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard. The promo runs from June 16 through June 30. The new Surface Pro is available now on the official Microsoft Store website.
