what an episode, i feel as if it is not kates baby but deffinitly claires. If claire does die i think that is a bit shocking, i think it would probably be better if she stays on the island and gives up her son rather than die, i was litterally shell shocked when kate said aaron at the end.

Possible reason why jack does not want to see aaron is that Claire and Jack are half brother/sister. Jack and Claire afterall do share the same farther. Again, more and more question but hardly any answers.

Loved what locke did to miles, his character is really standing out now, however sawyer is starting to get mushy as.

The oceanic 6 business is starting to get confusing. Jack did say there were 8 surivors so maybe there is the oceanic 8 but 2 die, not sure.

Grrr just want some more answers really not getting many at the moment and with the 6 week delay coming up soon it is going to **** me right off just waiting for them.

The answers are there (atleast to some of your questions). Personally, I thought it was obvious right when they talked about Aaron at the beginning. It kinda put a damper on it for me. Anyways, The oceanic 6 do not include those who were not on 815, such as Ben. Who else gets off? The list is out there, but I chose not to look at it. We only know Kate, Jack, Sayid, Hurley, of the 6.

I think some things have been answered, but some things are still up in the air- mainly for me, the meeting between Jack and Kate at the airport. Is the reason she can't be there due to her probation? Was she referring to her probation officer, or whomever related to that when she says "he doesnt know, etc."

The biggest of all, is who the helicopter people are. I thought it was Dharma, but it seems not to be. How they know Ben, I don't know.

It was strange how the promos were saying "and another one of the oceanic 6 is revealed" well didn't we know Kate was one way back at last seasons finale?...

My prediction is Claire is either killed or can't leave the island in a new "purge".

Yeah I think (Speculate) Claire will Die later... :(

To be honest, this episode was dry, at least compared to the previous three episodes. The major thing IMO is the ending of course, but outside of that, I wasn't really shocked or excited. Hopefully next week's is better.

except... for the fact miles has a granade between his teeth :p

it was a meh episode, i didn't understand the card thing with sir. twitch-alot (dan)

 Yeah, that was an awesome seen. I love Locke, he's not as powerful as Ben, but I could see him becoming a Ben 2.0.

Interesting read by some other Lost fans:

Tonight?s episode wasn?t as dense or thrilling as weeks past, but it still closed with a single word, a single name, that scored a palpable hit. Aaron, Claire?s baby, is one of the Oceanic Six? but calls Kate mommy. And so my head spins with possibilities. Kate must be claiming Aaron as her biological son, hence her refusal to let her mother see him. The rest of the Oceanic survivors must also be keeping Aaron?s true parentage secret. And something must have happened to Claire, as seeing her son is apparently too much for Jack.

But wait. Desmond had a vision of Claire and Aaron boarding a helicopter. Does Claire technically make it off the island but not to rescue? Or are the details Desmond?s visions in flux? There is that time discrepancy, after all.

And there?s still the big mystery of why Early Future Jack is generally together and fighting to put The Island behind him, and Late Future Jack is a mess and desperate to return. Could it be that the Jack we saw tonight was tortured about leaving people, including Claire, behind? but the Jack that we saw at the end of Season Three was pushed over the edge by learning who Claire really is?

All this wild conjecture sprouting from the closing moment of ?Eggtown,? a curiously named (apart from the eggs in the first scene) and leisurely paced episode that brought a few morsels of information on the island, and a flash forward that seemed to be the natural end of Kate?s character arc as we?ve followed it since 2004. Her story?s not over, of course ? note the conveniently imposed ?don?t leave California? restriction that?ll no doubt land her back in hot water ? but unlike Sayid?s jaw-dropping future, Kate pretty much ended up where we expected.

Was she truly transformed by her experiences on The Island? Probably not, since her freedom was based on a fabricated tale of heroism. Was she truly transformed by becoming a mother? Possibly, though how that happened doesn?t exactly bode well for them. Once again, it seems escape from The Island doesn?t mean our survivors can escape their true natures. Kate is still living a lie.

As for events on the island, a couple of tantalizing reveals. Miles doesn?t just know Ben, he knows what he?s capable of. But again we got a sense of that from ?The Economist.? The fact that the helicopter has disappeared, though, is ?far more than weird.? And the writers are not being subtle about the fact that Minkowski has been missing in action for some time, with the increasingly mysterious Regina up to something on the boat. Locke?s brief rush of confidence has again been flushed away by the reliably sinister Ben, but that?s nothing new.

Actually, I love when the show rewards viewers who have been aboard for the long haul, such as that opening scene with Locke bringing a captive Ben food and a book, only to leave in frustration, throwing said food to the floor. The exact scenario played out in the hatch in Season Two, making tonight?s reference a near brilliant touch? were it not for the fact that Ben called attention to it.

Jen is already trying to retract her Skater status, tonight expressing some frustration with Kate. To be sure, Kate made a pretty bad deal with Miles. Huge upside for Miles, huge risks for her, all for a ridiculous piece of information (?Do you know who I am??). And getting all pouty with Sawyer seemed like exactly the wrong tactic. She just found out she probably can?t return to the real world. So of course she runs back to Rescue Central. On the other hand, looking back, it was clear the whole point of all that tension was to make us presume that Kate?s future son was James Jr.

Notes and Notions:

  • Jen was annoyed at how easily Kate seemed to get off after everything law enforcement previously did to capture her. Was this a federal trial? What of the other states that suffered the wrath of Kate? I, however, have no problem believing that being famous is enough to keep you out of jail.
  • Jen was also very surprised to see Diane again, considering she was once on her death bed. Interesting that she thought she lost her daughter in a plane crash, but still lived beyond every medical estimate.
  • The ?don?t leave California? restriction really seemed arbitrary. It seemed to be specifically inserted to generate drama when Kate inevitably wants to leave (presumably to the island, if Jack ultimately convinces her). Isn?t she one of the most recognizable faces in America? Pity about that Golden Ticket.
  • What was with Charlotte?s test for Dan with the playing cards? Now that we know he had a ?caretaker? in ?Confirmed Dead,? I suspect it was just a basic memory exercise. But any time there?s a game in this show (backgammon!), there?s always something else going on.
  • Claire?s conversation about motherhood with Kate, in hindsight, was pretty ?anvilicious.?
  • Speaking of Claire, it was good to see her again, but kind of jarring to see her making coffee and hanging laundry. We saw Hurley mourn Charlie?s death, but she seems to have gotten over it quick. ?The Beginning of the End? really seems to be as far as the writers are going to let that tragedy leak into Season Four.
  • Sawyer Nicknames: ?Montezuma? for Hurley. ?Bruce Lee? for Miles. Which, Jen notes, is a recycled nickname. Jin got pegged with that one a while back. (There?s a great list at Lostpedia.)
  • Favorite Lines: Sawyer to Hurley: ?Got something in your eye, Hugo?? Hurley to Kate: ?You just Scooby-Doo?d me, didn?t you?? Miles to Kate: ?This is hot.?
  • Movies: ?Xanadu.? An interesting choice. If they were going for cheesy, why not throw some ?Expos?? in the VCR instead? Says Jen, ??Xanadu? is often compared to ?Brigadoon,? and ?Brigadoon? is about a mysterious town that only appears for some people.? Check out the Wikipedia entry for ?Brigadoon? and ?Xanadu.? Hmm.
  • Music: ?She?s Got You? by Patsy Cline. Her catalog is clearly Kate?s soundtrack.
  • Books: ?VALIS? by Philip K. Dick, and a what looked like a paperback release of ?Memoirs of a Geisha.?
  • Locations: Hawaii State Capitol for Kate?s arrival, the prison meeting with her lawyer, and her meeting with Jack in the parking garage. The YWCA was where they built the courtroom. Anyone know where Kate?s house is?

Seems I'm not the only who thinks Aaron is one of the Oceanic Six.

The oceanic 6 business is starting to get confusing. Jack did say there were 8 surivors so maybe there is the oceanic 8 but 2 die, not sure.

Here's some quotes from Jack's speech in the courtroom which will clear this up a bit:

"Only 8 of us survived the crash, we landed in the water"

"She took care of me, she took care of all of us. She give us first aid, water.."

and just before Kate interrupts him:

Jack: "She tried to save the other 2, but they didn't..."

kate: "Stop"

So that would make the oceanic 6 the 8 in the water who survive, minus the 2 who die. This would mean Aaron is not one of the oceanic 6, assuming that they explain Aaron by Kate getting pregnant on the island with Jack.

Here's my take on this episode:

I don't think future Jack on this week's flash forwards knows Claire is his half sister yet, but I think that Claire got killed in some sort of conflict on the island between Jack/Locke/helicopter people, which is why he doesn't want to see Aaron as he feel/is somehow responsible for Claire's death.

Some Stuff about 4.05 (Not totally spoiler-rific but I will tag it)

The official description says something like Desmond experiences some side effects. Well that is most definitely true, but not only for Desmond. We?re also going to learn a little bit about Frank Lapetus that will surprise us, no he isn?t the man on the boat but he does have a soft spot for happy couples and may know a thing or two about how to ?reach out and touch? someone.

?Professor? Faraday will be a feature player in Desmond?s flashes, and look for a twist on the ?Flashes Before Your Eyes? formula. Not something that hasn?t been done, but something that will be done again to a new extreme.

Are the freighties good or bad? Well the four we have met so far may be a little ambiguous, but the ones onboard the ship are most certainly not the warm and welcoming sort. Not all of them anyways.

Why did she steal the baby?

Thats another question....

Good episode, i agreed with someone who said it was dry, kind of slowed down the story a bit.

Looking forward to next week!

Why did she steal the baby?

Well we don't know if she stole it...we just know she has a child called Aaron which we assume is from Claire, Claire may of died on the Island we just don't know it.

First "meh" episode IMO.

Moved forward some parts of the story, but nothing really "big".

I suppose you could've guessed the part with the baby, I mean it's not as if they'd let a baby die/get stranded on the island.

Latest from Kristin - What Lies Ahead

Desmond! Next week it's all about our favorite nude beach runner and what happens to him and Sayid in the freighter-copter. (Note: The turbulance toggles his "time travel"-y switch and flashes to a run-in with Daniel Faraday as he is a professor at Oxford...This is the clip we see in the preview in which short-haired Des says to long-haired D.F. "Am I gonna die?" And it should be mentioned that Desmond also could survive off the island and not be counted as one of the Oceanic Six since he wasn't on the manifest.)

And the week after that, it's...

Smooch time! Chances are, you already know the players (tsk, tsk, tsk). But I think many of you will like the development of that romance. are also getting very close to the return of Harold Perrineau (Michael), which makes me want to kiss someone my own self. His episode (number 8) will fill in where he's been since we last saw him, and I think you'll be pleased.

Wow! Can't wait!

I don't know who else they are going to do a flashforward on.. to me it's all dried up. Maybe they'll do one on Ben? or some other Dharma survivors... 4 more exciting episodes left... I can't wait :D

Did anyone else immediately notice the "concrete" walls moving when Locke threw the food at them at the beginning?

This episode definitely was a boring one. I tried watching it a second time without the commercial interruptions and it was still not that good. Hopefully next weeks episode will be much better.

Agreed that Aaron looked 3-4 years old. He's only about two months old on the island now.

A LOT of time has passed (not just months...a few years) between the island time and the Kate trial time. Kate's already gotten her settlement, obviously, and has settled into her new home, found a nanny she liked, etc. It's been a while.

I'm just curious as to what set off Hurley to go nuts again and how that leads to Jack going nuts like a month later...

    • Rufus 4.15.2391 Beta by Razvan Serea Rufus is a small utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. Despite its small size, Rufus provides everything you need! Oh, and Rufus is fast. For instance it's about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO (with honorable mention to WiNToBootic for managing to keep up). It is also marginally faster on the creation of Linux bootable USBs from ISOs. A non-exhaustive list of Rufus supported ISOs is available here. It can be especially useful for cases where: you need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.) you need to work on a system that doesn't have an OS installed you need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS you want to run a low-level utility Rufus 4.15.2391 Beta changelog: Improve the guards for using the "silent" option Improve the ability to cancel during write retries Fix unrestricted XML entity expansion and integer overflow in ezxml parser (courtesy of @esadowski4) [GHSA-55r2-34wg-8mv9] Fix "silent" Windows installation failing at 75% in most cases [#2960] Fix a crash during boot when using UEFI:NTFS on Snapdragon X based ARM64 platforms [#2934] Fix the first WUE option always being checked by default [#2965] Fix an infinite loop when using Windows ISOs that contain multiple WIMs Fix "Enable runtime UEFI media validation" checkbox not always being properly enabled Other WUE improvements/fixes for OneDrive removal and username validation (with thanks to @christian8641) [#2984, #2991] Download: Rufus 4.15 Beta | 1.9 MB (Open Source) Links: Rufus Home Page | Project Page @GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.3 by Razvan Serea Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC) is a free and open-source video and audio player for Windows. MPC-HC is based on the original Guliverkli project (which is no longer maintained) and contains many additional features and bug fixes. As the continuation of the original Media Player Classic, MPC-HC isn’t flashy but it works with nearly any media format. MPC-HC uses DXVA technology to pass decoding operations to your modern video card, enhancing your viewing experience. And MPC-HC supports both physical and software DVDs with menus, chapter navigation, and subtitles. Overview of features A lot of people seem to be unaware of some of the awesome features that have been added to MPC-HC in the past years. Here is a list of useful options and features that everyone should know about: Dark interface Menu > View > Dark Theme When using dark theme it is also possible to change the height of the seekbar and size of the toolbar buttons. Options > Advanced Video preview on the seekbar Options > Tweaks > Show preview on seek bar Adjust playback speed Menu > Play > Playback rate The buttons in the player that control playback rate take a 2x step by default. This can be customized to smaller values (like 10%): Options > Playback > Speed step Adjusting playback speed works best with the internal audio renderer. This also has automatic pitch correction. Options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer MPC-HC can remember playback position, so you can resume from that point later Options > Player > History You can quickly seek through a video with Ctrl + Mouse Scrollwheel. You can jump to next/previous file in a folder by pressing PageUp/PageDown. You can perform automatic actions at end of file. For example to go to next file or close player. Options > Playback > After Playback (permanent setting) Menu > Play > After Playback (for current file only) A-B repeat - You can loop a segment of a video. Press [ and ] to set start and stop markers. You can rotate/flip/mirror/stretch/zoom the video Menu > View > Pan&Scan This is also easily done with hotkeys (see below). There are lots of keyboard hotkeys and mouse actions to control the player. They can be customized as well. Options > Player > Keys Tip: there is a search box above the table. You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites Put yt-dlp.exe or youtube-dl.exe in the MPC-HC installation folder. Then you can open website URLs in the player: Menu > File > Open File/URL You can even download those videos: Menu > File > Save a copy Tip: to be able to download in best quality with yt-dlp/youtube-dl, it is recommended to also put ffmpeg.exe in the MPC-HC folder. Several YDL configuration options are found here: Options > Advanced This includes an option to specify the location of the .exe in case you don't want to put it in MPC-HC folder. Play HDR video This requires using madVR or MPC Video Renderer. After installation these renderers can be selected here: Options > Playback > Output Ability to search for and download subtitles, either automatically or manually (press D): Options > Subtitles > Misc Besides all these (new) features, there have also been many bugfixes and internal improvements in the player in the past years that give better performance and stability. It also has updated internal codecs. Support was added for CUE sheets, WebVTT subtitles, etc. Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.3 changelog: Updated LAV Filters to version 0.82 Updated MPC Video Renderer to version 0.10.4.2550 Updated MPC Audio Renderer A few crash fixes, bug fixes and small improvements. • Microsoft will finally let you sign in to Edge with a Google account by Usama Jawad As things currently stand, Microsoft Edge only allows you to sign in to the browser with a Microsoft Account (MSA). This allows you to sync your browser settings and other data across other devices, as long as you sign in with the same account. However, Microsoft is now modifying this mechanism in a way that will likely please many users. In an update to its Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Microsoft has indicated that it will soon let users sign into Edge using a Google account from the profile menu and the Edge sign-in screen. This will be in addition to the MSA login option, and it opens up new doors for people who prefer using Edge, but cannot be bothered to configure a Microsoft account. This brings several advantages such as the ability to sync your data across devices using just a Google account. It may even facilitate flexible single sign-on (SSO) experiences where you can quickly login to websites and services through a single Google account that is presented as the preferred sign-in option. Up until now, Microsoft allowed customers to indirectly use a Google account, by configuring a Google account as a Microsoft account, or by setting up a one-way sync option between Edge and Chrome. This is a rather interesting development, especially considering that Google Chrome still limits you to a Google account sign-in, but it will be interesting to see if the company reciprocates Microsoft's gesture in the future. This is not the only recent instance in which Microsoft has extended a handshake to Google via Edge. In April 2026, it began tracking the development of a work search banner for Google Search queries, just like the one present in Edge. However, if we go back almost seven years, to January 2020, Microsoft had emphasized that it had no plans to "integrate Google services into Microsoft Edge by default", in response to people requesting Google sign-in services on Edge. Fast-forward to today, and Microsoft is planning to release this feature in July 2026, with IT admins having the option to control its availability on Windows and macOS through the NonMicrosoftAccountSignInEnabled policy.
