The numbers were key to the second season, all the way to the finale when they could no longer be entered into the computer. Where are you getting 4 years = 40 days? Because the show has been on the air for four years and has only covered 108 days? The time on the show has no correlation to the viewing time. Why not gripe about 24 taking five months to air even though it's only 24 hours?

One key, critical, and crucial aspect to Lost is that it is a telling of a complete story that will have spanned over the course of six seasons. From the get go it was established as a mystery story, not something to keep you guessing for 30 seconds and then reveal the answer. All of the questions and mysteries are what makes Lost Lost. Comparing it to other shows that are not made in the same manner is pointless.

Lost was always borderline science fiction when it started, but now that they're moving to the mysteries of the island, it is becoming more scifi, and I welcome it with open arms. Anything shown outside of the show is more viral marketing than anything else. You can watch Lost and get exactly what the writers intended on showing and telling. Anything else is extra food for thought and isn't needed to continue telling the story.

If it's not entertaining you, then just stop watching it, while those of us who welcome the scientific theories of time travel and teleportation enjoy the show more and more. From the start Lost forced people to ask questions; don't expect to receive an answer to some of the biggest mysteries of the show before they get a chance to tell their story.

I was exaggerating the 4 years = 40 days. And I don't watch 24, so I can't comment on the timeline of that show.

Yes, Lost was always borderline Sci-Fi, that's why it had so many viewers. Key word is borderline. Now it has gone way over the deep end. We don't want answers every episode, in fact, we don't need answers every season. I was fine with the idea that the numbers/smoke monster wouldn't be explained until the end. That's the point of a show, to keep you watching. I can respect that. What I (and I am guessing the few million others who have stopped watching) don't like is the complete lack of answers. Throw us a bone every now and then.

The lack of a causal line in the show is infuriating. The show was good up until there was a guarenteed number of seasons. from that point on the show has suffered. Why? In my opinion, and maybe I should get my tinfoil hat, is because it is a giant scam. Right now everyone knows that the show only has a few seasons left. So they really don't need to explain everything. They are going to put it off and put it off until the very last season. Why? It is simple, to sell the DVD's. They will keep everything secret and let no big secret go until the end so that once everything that can be known is, the peons will go out and buy the DVD's and watch from season 1 so they can put it all together themselves with their newfound knowledge.

Sounds far-fetched, I know, but one must agree, that is brilliant marketing.

They totally messed up with the Penny / Desmond reunion scene! They should have had Desmond see Penny on the boat, call out her name, and have Ben come up from behind Penny and slit her throat or something.

Thats not really something you would expect in lost, something like 24 maybe but not lost.

They totally messed up with the Penny / Desmond reunion scene! They should have had Desmond see Penny on the boat, call out her name, and have Ben come up from behind Penny and slit her throat or something.

Might get that in season 5 or 6.

Cause Ben's threat to Widmore will definitely come true. He took the time to see Widmore, so its definitely his top priority besides going back the island.

Then Desmond will kill Ben, but Sayid will kill Desmond because Sayid needs Ben to kill Widmore. Little did Sayid know, Desmond was pregnant with Sun's son. Jin was deceived throughout season 5, and thinks the son is his, so Jin kills Sayid. But, Jack being Jacob, went back in time and had sex with Sun. So the baby was his after all.

...Claire is having daddy issues, because he just doesn't seem to like that her daughter is dating Hurley. Sawyer moves back into Ben's house, alone, waiting for Claire to show up; while Locke continues his love affair with Richard Alpert.

except for the fact that he hasn't told her dad that he was going to kill her yet...

yes we saw it...but at the time when she was reunited with Desmond Ben hadn't been to see Charles yet...

Thanks to Nicole for the following snippets that appeared in Sky One's Lost Answers show which aired after the Season 4 Finale on Sunday. Some of these were obviously tongue-in-cheek.

Thanks to Freckles from Lost-Chile for the portion of the video from the show.

- The black smoke is "misunderstood"

- Christian Shepard will become very important next year

- They have no answers for the love triangle

- They say the flash forwards show that aren't making it up as they go along

- Both Ben and Charles Widmore are very important

- Michael Emerson thinks Ben will end up being a hero

- Lost will definitely end at the end of Season 6.

- Season 7 - The Zombie Season was a joke.

- JR Rowling will write Season 8 and Damon and Carlton would write the 8th Harry Potter book.

- Everyone has great hair on the island due to a woman named "Marge" who was on the plane attending a hair competition in Sydney along with a suitcase full of hair supplies.

I'm quite fond of the 'ben being a good guy really' and protecting the island because he is so fascinated and fond of its physical properties. He's still sly and conniving, but that's just because he doesn't want to be incapacitated.

Perhaps. Not sure anymore about anything! :)

I read this and had to laugh. ITS A THEORY. This has been a theory for eons and it still cant be proven. Its still jumped.

You're saying that LOST jumped the shark because something happened that isn't hard scientific fact?

- smoke monster

- richard alpert not aging / time traveling

- jacob

- whispers

- christian sheperd

- psychics

- sudden curing of illnesses

Are we watching the same show?

I still want to know what was behind that blocked up door in the hatch too, ugh so many unanswered questions. I hope they do have some hatch flashbacks or something in the next season(s).

Play Lost: Via Domus to find out.

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers.
