How did you get that start panel?

I believe it's the standard menu in Mint. I used to use a variant of it for Ubuntu, but it was a bit of a system (and screen) hog.

It's called gnome-main-menu or something, you can install it on Ubuntu and stuff too I believe. I know I had it once, back when I used Ubuntu lol. Since OpenSuse has it as well.. I believe it's just a Gnome thing =p

This is my main windowmanager and has been for about 8 months, I've used Xfce for about 5 years and I'll always use it, but it just can't compete with Wmii for speed.

Do you want a fresh install? If not, you could easily install the xubuntu-desktop package and you get a nearly complete Xubuntu (Only the old bootscreen remains) + your old Ubuntu stuff :)

truth is, i've downloaded some cool wallpapers but have them in storage as i am still happy with the default ubuntu human theme (i'll probably keep it for a while longer and then do some tinkering ;)

Not very exciting but at least it shows I am not addicted to green.......

Actually I usually like more complicated desktop images but I like the clean lines of Ubuntu and wanted to try a wallpaper that had clean lines too.

BTW, I am using Clearlooks Theme, with the windows modified to a blue nicked from the wallpaper.
