thefadedmemories
I have an old mac that I am updating. I have some dmg files on a PC, problem is that I don't have a burner on my mac. How do i burn these dmg files on my pc so that the mac will read it as though they are the actually disk?
gigapixels Veteran Posted August 31, 2007 Veteran Share Posted August 31, 2007 There are a few programs that can convert DMG to ISO so that you can burn them in any burning program on the PC. One of them is UltraISO if I remember correctly.
.Neo
I don't believe any Windows utilities can handle a compressed .dmg file. Unfortunately for you 99% of all .dmg files are.
gigapixels Veteran Posted August 31, 2007 Veteran Share Posted August 31, 2007 I haven't done it too much, but I've definitely converted some before with UltraISO. Well it's worth a shot at least.
.Neo
It would be nice if it fully supports .dmg files. So far I haven't had much luck. :/
thefadedmemories
I tried that last night - Magic ISO can handle .dmg files, and then I converted it to an iso following their online help - problem was after I inserted the cd into the my mac it saw the cd as a cd-rw with the files on there. The instructions said it would auto run the installer but no go.
