i just watched that movie and i didn't like it at all, it was really boring. Also i hated the music they kept playing in the background it was even more boring.

i'd give it 4/10

IMDB considers one of the 250 best movies ever to have been made and I tend to agree with that assessment.

the plot was great i don't disagree, but still they could've made it much much more interesting. maybe it's because I got bored in the middle of the movie, i forgot about all other aspects like cinematography

That seems to speak to a MTV-style attention span. I assume you don't like books either.

I watched it a few months back and I really liked it. The story, action and cinematography were all very good. I give it around 8/10.

i know many people who liked the movie, i think i just have a different taste. and no i am fine with books but my choice of books is limited to books like animal farm and lord of the flies. which reminds me to add lord of the flies in movie ratings

The movie is just awe inspiring. The protagonists are depictions of virtue and the plot is a metaphor going past the borders of thought. I like this movie a lot because it escapes the shallowness of the majority of hollywood movies. The plot is like an intriguing puzzle where everything falls together unraveling intricate patterns. The colors and the scenery also strike the watcher :) .

I'd easily give it a 9.5/10 .

Great movie, not quite on par as Fearless and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but a brilliant film none the less, plus it has Zhang Ziyi who makes me do a sex wee...

I think it reflects lot about the way "mainland" chinese think. Thus why Taiwan should be a part of China and the same with Tibet.

It so odd, coming from a western background, but I hate Qin. He did not have to unite China in that way at all. Although the chinese people look up to him as they do in this movie. The great leader who sacrificed his life to become emperor to unite china and to end suffering. Do the ends justify the means. NO! You throw away your ethics, morals then you are but a shell of person.

This is one thing I dont like about chinese culture of us and them. I'm a Han etc. We are all one race the human race. It's sad how we stick to our countries.....

Look at Euorpe it's broken up into many countries, do they really need to be united as one to stop wars... no.

If you like Hero, you might want to check out House of Flying Daggers from the same director.

Personally, I prefer House of Flying Daggers. But they're both great movies.
