I have the black model and love it. I did have the second generation and found that it fit in my hand better and I like the paint job on the 2nd gen better. But this new one is cool as I can watch you tube vids on it and I do love the cover flow. Now that I am used to it I like it alot. The screen is so much better. I am always looking at it for the covers and the new games I play much more often. ( I have not bought any of the games on itunes yet).

I've just gotten this little gem, so I figured the next thing I will need is a protective casing/covering (I'm doubtful that a screen protector alone would serve the purpose well)

So can somebody recommend something that is of quality? (aesthetically pleasing too?)

Thanks! :)

The Invisible Shield works great, I'd always recommend that over a bulkier silicone case.

I've had it a day and my nano already has quite a few scratches on the back. I just give up, because no matter how much I look after it, it's still gonna get scratched. Annoying, but hey, what can you do.

That was exactly what I was worried about. The front seems to be much more resistant to scratches from daily use... So I bought an InvisibleShield and am just using the back sheet to protect the mirror finish. Works like a charm, I can place my nano down on any surface and not worry about scratching the back :)

For me, it has always been bad luck with headphones.

Got a nano yesterday. Was really impressed by the size.

When I came home and connected - Windows didn't recognize my device and cant find any drivers for it (iTunes was already installed). The player has no charge. I saw an apple logo and a welcome screen for a second then the player restarted itself. I have thought get back to the store but after Windows restart everything was fine.

Works really great right now. But yesterdays problem worry me a bit

I just got the new Ipod nano 8gig and think its great . . although I run Ubuntu and I am unable to get the artwork to transfer over and I had to install a newer libgpod3 package rather than libgpod2 . .. . . but once all was set it works great.

Personally I think the 4th Gen Nano is / was the best nano they ever made. Then they had to go **** it up with the 5th gen.

The clip makes it look so cheap. :/ But I agree the previous generation looked amazing. Too bad it didn't came in 32 GB, that would have been perfect for me! :)

    • Personally, I think these things are way over rated and way over priced, even at this price. I recently had Frontier Fiber installed with 2 of these devices and although they worked, I switched back to my own router and AP setup and get way better consistency on wireless speed than with Eeros. Wired speed seems to be more consistent also. Will be returning Eeros soon. I had told Frontier I didn't want them to begin with.
    • Yes, exactly what I have been thinking. Don't make the context menu simpler, make it smarter to learn what I actually use. And then, give me the ability to pin settings that I rarely use but need forget where they are.

Later today, Geoff Keighley will be bringing the 2026 edition of Summer Game Fest live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the Summer Game Fest showcase livestream will be kicking off at 2 PM PT | 5 PM ET | 10 PM BST later today, June 5. The jam-packed show is slated to run for about two hours, with platforms like YouTube (4K at 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, or X being available for catching it. Like in previous years, separate streams featuring American Sign Language and Descriptive Audio are available on YouTube as well. Keighley has only dropped a few teasers about what gaming fans can expect to see at the show. This includes a new look at Star Wars Zero Company from EA, a major announcement from Guild Wars developer ArenaNet, more Clutch gameplay, and some sort of Sega presence. As for fan expectations, there is hype building about a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 reveal here, and we might see new details about announced games like Alien Isolation 2 as well. If you want even more games, keep in mind that right after the main kickoff event, the Day of the Devs showcase will begin its own festivities at 4 pm PT | 7 pm ET. This is focused entirely on upcoming indie games. Following this, the next major games showcase is slated to happen on June 7. Here, Microsoft is bringing the big guns with its Xbox Games Showcase and Gears of War E-Day Direct. Check out the full calendar for all of the June events over here.
