WiredUp
OK, I have no idea how to share torrents. I'm using BitComet. 1. What is a tracking server? Do I need to run one? 2. Apparently my computer should be the seed. How do I seed files to others? How do I specify that my computer is the seed for this file? 3. How do I check my active uploads on BitComet? WiredUp
I'm actually trying to spread my own software using P2P as a marketing tool.
ViperAFK
Torrent has plenty of legal uses. We might as well not talk about the internet because files can be shared on it. He didn't state he was doing anything illegal. I'm not quite sure how as I've never made a torrent myself.
jonnybarnes
If you use Azureus as your client, then theres plenty of information on the Azureus wiki.
WiredUp
OK, so I figured out how to upload it. However, when I add it to a torrent site it says there are 0 seeds even though I am seeding. Is this normal? Also, what are peers? Are these downloaders? Nocturnus
Yes, sometimes they might report 0 seeds for a period of time when in fact there are several seeders. And yes, peers are other people that are downloading the file.
