A simple application for those of you that need to download updates from the windows site yet at the same time do not posess a retail version.

Changes:

  • [li]Terms and Conditions have been added to the beginning of this application - read them[/li]
    [li]The application bypasses the Windows Genuine Advantage Tool[/li]
    [li]You may update your windows with the latest updates at anytime[/li]
    [li]Using this means you don't need internet explorer to download your updates, in fact Internet Explorer could of been removed and you can still grab the updates[/li]
    [li]Like other update applications this connects to the windows update site, others contain the updates already[/li]
    [li]Article link has been updated, with more current information, any links that aren't available are the result of Microsoft not updating there own links.[/li]
    [li]MSDN has been updated properly, previously the link was going elsewhere.[/li]
    [li]The previous version may still be used, but the new version is more uptodate.[/li]

I can run this utility but after it open whenever I try to do something Windows gives me a message saying I can't do that because "Program is busy." whether I want to switch to or retry. It eventually lets me do things but this takes a very long time.

I also would like it if it could scan for driver downloads to replace Windows Update completely.

Actually Microsoft wont shut it down, as Microsoft have now removed there WGA from Internet Explorer 7.0, thus you can still use this. As for language vb.net.

I was thinking of just doing up some image background or something, and changing it, the colour I know is bad.

The problem with driver scanning, is they're so many different types of drivers available that it could cause some problems for people when it comes to installing drivers, even though the drivers would be the correct drivers there is always the chance of a mishap. This is only a first stepping stone, and more is too come.
