Neo Razgriz
Hi. Lately IE7 blows! Slow to load, random freezes, etc. Annoying the **** out of me it is! I re d/l Opera. It's great! Anyways, how can I further optimize this great browser's performance? I may have done some thing already, but I'd like to know more. If it helps, I'm on 512/128 broadband. Also...: - should I keep Turbo Mode on or off? I have a 1gb ram if that helps. - how do i turn off autocomplete for the address bar (or entirely)? halcyoncmdr
Keep turbo mode on, it does make a difference. :) In the preferences, under Network changing the "Max connections to a server" and "Max total connections" to a higher number tends to make a difference, I have mine set to 32/128. I am not sure how to turn off the address bar auto complete though...
Neo Razgriz
Okay. Turbo Mode is being kept on, and I've got the "max connections" settings both set to 64.

nXqd
If you still use Opera, try this Quote - (Darken @ Aug 21 2006, 05:52) Try this: opera:config - Performance -- Max Connections Server: 16 -- Max Connections Total: 64 -- Network Buffer Size: 32 -- Uncheck --> Reduce Max Persistent HTTP Connections Also, Go to Tools --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Browsing --> Try Redraw instantly (loading zone) Have fun! from: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=488311
Neo Razgriz
It seems to have worked. But I can't truly tell at this time, because my connection is in "on-peak" hours (****** ISP ****, reduces my 512/128 to 128). Thanks anyway. :)
