myrhymeandreason
save to a multi-part rar file and send each part as a separate email? I love how ridiculous it gets to send a flipping file through Gmail.. same with .exe
Hankyone
I stopped sending file with gmail, live mail etc, they make it a real pain in the ass just get a box.net account and make a public folder, MUCH simpler (Y)
John S. Veteran Posted September 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 20, 2007 Forget zipping the file unless it is huge and needs it, just rename the file extension to something gmail won't recognize (.gkz, .fak, etc)...make sure the recipient knows to name it back correctly. I've saved a few in my drafts this way so I can access them at work.
shay7
Get GNUPG for windows and encrypt the file.
Avogadro
I find that https://www.yousendit.com/ works quite well for sending files. They have a size limit of 100Mb for the free alternative though.
cell tech
I love how ridiculous it gets to send a flipping file through Gmail.. same with .exe I'm in agreement that sending something you intend to send should not be so difficult. It's only when these people that are promising to look out for us don't consider that sometimes we "WANT" to send something to ourselves that this becomes an issue. But, OH WELL! I think I'm young enough to appreciate when "Google Elderly A$$-Wipe 2.0" comes out and I won't need them diapers. Oh, orignial poster: PM me and I can set up a web site to host the file. You can then email the link for it to be downloaded and everything will be fine... Partridge Family fine. :D
