MrKuro
I'd assume the big ones are probably coaxial (maybe optical) inputs/outputs connections.

rajputwarrior
does it support EAX 5? nevermind, no it doesn't so it doesn't really replace an x-fi as a gaming sound card
Sethos
does it support EAX 5?nevermind, no it doesn't so it doesn't really replace an x-fi as a gaming sound card As long as you don't have to purchase drivers ...

Smigit
doesn't look bad. That said if I was to buy a non creative card it'd probaboy be the Auzen X-Fi Prelude. Off the record, I have an X-Fi elite
majortom1981
Remember eax might not exist anymore with vista . Isnt vista douilg openal (might have the name wrong) and made eax all screwed up? How does the sound compare to the xfi series. I dont care about the cpu usage. I have a core 2 duo wich doesnt get used much so I dont mind . lol
HawkMan
Yeah EAX is dying, the Creative monopoly on gaming sound is about to be a thing of the past. and we'll have soem real competition.
jimbo11883
Does anyone else notice that the driver's configuration UI bear resemblance to C-Media's, which is also used with AuzenTech sound cards (excluding the Prelude) I think the Asus sound chip is a rebranded C-Media one, or is a clone. The Asus Xonar D2 uses the CMI 8788 Oxygen HD processor, not necessary a rebrand though -- the rest of it is pretty much self built/configured.
