[Official] NBC Knight Rider

Recommended Posts

This week, Jaime Sommers returned to the small screen with the fairly successful premiere of Bionic Woman. So it seems only fitting that it was reported yesterday that another vintage TV character could be gracing the airwaves some time next year. But who is it? I?ll give you a hint: He has a talking car.

Ok, if that hint wasn?t totally obvious, you were either living under a rock back in the 80?s or you weren?t born yet. Variety recently reported that NBC is bringing back Knight Rider! Interestingly enough, it wasn?t the re-imagining of Bionic Woman that inspired the Peacock to bring back Michael Knight and his talking car, KITT but rather, the success of the summer blockbuster, Transformers.

Variety stated, ?Success of "Transformers" had a role in inspiring NBC Entertainment chief Ben Silverman's decision to revive "Knight." The thinking is that smallscreen f/x have advanced to the point where it'd be feasible to have a weekly series in which cars shift shapes.? Doug Liman, who directed The Bourne Identity (and produced the two sequels that followed) has been brought on board to produce the new version of the series.

Variety also suggested that there?s a good chance that we?ll see a ?backdoor pilot? for the series sometime this spring. This means that rather than unveiling the new series in the fall, NBC might air an extended pilot episode at some point during the spring season when some of their regularly scheduled shows are on hiatus. It would basically be a sneak preview for the series. We saw something like this last spring when ABC crammed the pilot episode of Private Practice into a ?special two-hour episode? of Grey?s Anatomy. In the case of Knight Rider, since this series isn?t a spin-off, its highly unlikely that NBC will try to squeeze the intro Knight?s new story into an episode of Heroes. Although I do think it might make for a hilarious Office episode if Knight and KITT showed up at Dunder-Mifflin. Maybe not.

Wow I think they are running out of ideas for shows so t:ermm:ve to bring back old ones :ermm:

its simple, no Hasslehof, no show baby!

i wish the KITT could be a 750HP turbo charged R32 Skyline with quad core system, with a strong maniacal british voice, almost like Stu'ies from Family Guy

''U fool turn right, omg your so gonna get pawned for this mission u IMBASIL'' .....haha, now that would be extremely entertaining :)

the Tv movie they made was damn good.

You may be in a small majority there mate. The general consensus I got from other Knight Rider fan sites were that it could have been a lot better. The film was ok imo, but I for one was disappointed not to see at least some of the original KITT (Pointiac Trans-Am)

Well, I agree with the majority... If they don't bring back the Hoff and William Daniels at the very least (Patricia McPherson and Peter Parros are unlikely to show) then this thing is simply doomed to failure.

Team Knight Rider anyone?

If they do bring it back, keep the bloody theme tune the same! :p

Lame. How about you know...creating new material instead of recycling/rehashing/regurgitating classic shows and themes? Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe.

First they made a barrage of retarded, quickie game shows and now this. I'm still irked about NBC canceling The Black Donnellys.

    • Just the price of doing business. The scamble to pull as much from the web as possible is happening, and it's happening before a case like this changes how or what is legal do to with AI in terms of data harvesting. But even then as we've seen with the likes of Google who ignore cookie requests and just accept the fact they'll get fined, it's built into their business price model now. AI is here, its not going away. Their reward if any from the court case would be best suited to trying to incorprate AI or licence their end points as authentic human verified content. The problem is, as we've seen these same news papers are using AI themselves.

    • This Chinese company is reportedly developing a feature Apple and Samsung can only dream of by Hamid Ganji While companies like Apple and Samsung have been relatively conservative with their devices’ battery capacities in recent years, Chinese manufacturers have taken the competition to the next level by introducing significantly larger batteries. However, the latest report from China suggests that a local company may already be developing a smartphone with a whopping 14,000mAh battery. Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that a smartphone maker is developing a device with a 14,000mAh battery. If true, it would be the largest battery ever used in a smartphone and could, in theory, provide up to a week of battery life on a single charge. The leaker did not reveal the name of the company behind the device, but there are some clues. This week, HONOR unveiled the X80 Pro Max in China with an 11,000mAh battery and 90W wired charging support. The company also launched the Honor Win in January, which packs a 10,000mAh battery. HONOR, a former subsidiary of Huawei, has a proven track record of developing smartphones with unusually large batteries. However, other Chinese brands, including Xiaomi, have also launched devices such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with 7,500mAh batteries. Though Chinese users on Weibo also believe the company behind the new battery is HONOR. Interestingly, Digital Chat Station said the device with the 14,000mAh battery weighs around 220 grams, making it lighter than the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (233 grams) and slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (214 grams). The iPhone 17 Pro Max currently packs a 5,088mAh battery in eSIM-only versions, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 5,000mAh battery. Neither device is expected to see a dramatic increase in battery capacity in its next-generation successor. So when it comes to battery comparison, Chinese brands are unbeaten. HONOR smartphones are currently available in the EU, but the Chinese brand has no official presence in the United States due to restrictions imposed by the U.S. government.
