best wiimote rechargeable battery set?

Recommended Posts

i think i had enough buying AA's for my wiimotes. time to buy rechargeable batteries that possibly come with a charging dock station. i've seen the nyko one. and there's the joytech one too. gimme some recommendations. i don't know which one is the BEST out there. it doesn't have to be the two i listed.

I have the nyko one and it works pretty good for me...however it doesnt allow for sleeves to be put on the wiimote...I'm not sure about the other one.

Do you have something against buying rechargeable AA batteries and an actually decent quality charger?

Will you spend a little more, yes. Will you have a fancy Wii styled charging dock, no. Will you get a better quality battery and charger, yes. Can you use the batteries in something else, yes. This is really the Best solution if you're looking for quality.

Really the best batteries you can get. Even though there are Energizer and Duracell that are rated at this mAh or close to it these outperform them consistently by leaps and bounds in my day to day use, and they're cheaper.

It seems a lot simpler to simply place the Wiimote in the cradle when you're done playing so it's ready for next time you want to play. Particularly if it's cheaper. You can use those batteries somewhere else, but that's only useful if you plan on not having batteries in your Wiimote. Frankly the Nyko is a better solution to his (and my) problem.

For about a month after getting my Wii I used rechargable batteries and a charger...but it became very irritating having to change out the batteries when they ran out...so I prefer the much simpiler solution of the Nyko Dock Station

I ordered this about 3 days ago should be here soon, how do you like it/how long have you owned it? I was reading some reviews that it caused the Wiimote from working with not only the Nyko batteries but regular AAs too, but then there were many more who said they had no problem.

I really enjoy it because like I said in previous posts I dont have to think about changing batteries or removeing them to recharge them. I've had it for a couple of months and havnt really had any problems with it however with the new wrist straps you have to play with it a little to get it to sit on the charger right. I just tried with a couple of normal AAs and it works perfectly with mine so I have no idea about what other people are saying.

    • Too soon, I'm still not over this death!
    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary in AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update but that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
