Yggdrasilly
^ Gina was the Six that was aboard the Pegasus in Razor, and was tortured by Cain's officers. Anyway, I want to see D'Anna again, too. I'm actually really curious about which of the five in the opera house that she apologized to. I know that's just a small thing, but it's been stuck in the back of my mind. I'm thinking that it may have been Saul, because they poked his eye out... Even though it was Cavil that did that, I'm sure D'Anna had some part in that. I have to agree about this week, too... They spent too much time with Roslin and the dying woman. I would've liked to see a little more Starbuck. I mean, the Hybrid told her 'You're the harbinger of death, Kara Thrace!' and they only showed her once after that, I think... And she was in shock [understandably], but she didn't try to stop the others or anything... I was expecting her to, especially after she hears that she will 'lead everyone to their deaths'. Y'know? LOC Veteran Posted May 11, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2008 And you call yourselves sci-fi geeks?? That "dying woman" is Major Kira from Deep Space Nine! That's why she got alot of screen time. And the hybrid didn't say Kara would lead them to their deaths, just to the end. The end of what is the question. The journey? Their lives? The knowledge of what came to pass and what will come to pass? Notice the hybrid said the missing 3 will give you the 5 who come from the home of the 13th. I take that as the boxed Zena will tell them who the 5 final models are (the 4 currently known, and the final one she saw in the Opera house) and that the final 5 KNOW where Earth is (obviously) and they COME from Earth. Why else would they come from the "home of the 13th" as in colony? +Nik Louch Subscriber² Posted May 11, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted May 11, 2008 The six kissing the six was just plain dumb and didn't make sense Six represents the sensual side of human nature. Interesting now that the centurions have access to higher brain functions that the model in the Hybrid room was clearly having an internal conflict over what to do when the Hybrid's plug was pulled. Kushan
They say the final 5 know where earth is, but as far as well can tell, the 4 that are known do NOT know where earth is, so I think there's a lot more to this than is known so far. LOC Veteran Posted May 11, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2008 And she kissed her because she was about to kill her. That's why she said "I'm glad it's going to be you" or whatever she said right before she blew her head off. Blood for blood as the Six said, that's human nature - right? They say the final 5 know where earth is, but as far as well can tell, the 4 that are known do NOT know where earth is, so I think there's a lot more to this than is known so far. You can't say for sure they don't know where Earth is, they don't even know what they are yet. They are all still dealing with the fact they are Cylons after all. They are machines remember, they may have information they don't even know in there somewhere. They may have visions like Rosilin and that Six had (with Sharon if I remember correctly) Just like Tyrol saw that Supernova which was the sign they were looking for, they may all hold a key to Earth that they just have to "see" or "hear" or whatever. That's why she said "I'm glad it's going to be you" or whatever she said right before she blew her head off.Blood for blood as the Six said, that's human nature - right? Why not do a more realistic kiss of compassion such as on the forehead or cheek? I just see no need to have the two on the brink of making out. +Nik Louch Subscriber² Posted May 11, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted May 11, 2008 Because at what point over the last 4 years has the character kissed anyone on the cheek? That doesn't represent sesuality that she see's as a bond. Kushan
Because it's not a friendly peck on the cheek to say hello, she's about to get killed and since the sixes represent passion and raw emotion, it's only fitting that they go out that way. Mathachew Veteran Posted May 11, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2008 If my wife is on her deathbed, yeah, I'm going to kiss her on the lips, but they're not lesbian lovers, are they? With the way things go in this show, that could very well be the case. There's nothing saying a hug around the about to be dead six's head and a kiss to it isn't as passionate as one to the lips. Why not have a quick orgy to go out with a bang since she's passion and emotion? Whatever, I still think it was dumb. There was nothing else in this episode that provided sexuality, so they had to have it somewhere, right? +Nik Louch Subscriber² Posted May 11, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted May 11, 2008 6 has no care about sexuality - the uses sensuality to express herself. And knows the other 6 would think similarly. That's why she got alot of screen time. At first I really didn't think it was Nana Visitor until I heard her speak. I found it quite interesting when her character and Roslin spoke of death and the transition to the other side. It's really reinforcing the Cylon's religious views. They believe in one God whereas the Humans (most of them) believe in multiple Gods. Frankly I thought this past episode was a let down from previous week. Yeah it was kool that they were on the Cylon ship and working with them. I thought it was HOT that the two cylon women kissed. I think they over played Six killing that woman. I also thought the hybrid or whatever was sitting in that pool was over played. Budious
The six kissing the six was just plain dumb and didn't make sense My interpretation is it may have been too dramatic but it goes back to these two sixes having a relationship on Caprica after her resurrection and the emotional toll of her assassination by the resistance forces. If the model has as a homosexual orientation (Gina and Admiral Cain), these two may have bonded somewhat incestuously during there counseling sessions. My thought was of Colonel Tigh putting down Ellen for collusion with the cylons on New Caprica before he knew he was one... I think the scene just brings back the humanity the cylons are attempting to develop but come off as overly dramatic to the distaste of the humans who witness their version of "humanity." Yggdrasilly
I'm surprised, actually. Gaeta seems to have a decent voice, depsite some of the shakiness. I have to agree though--make him stop! Last night's episode was really good. Tension is rising... And now the Basestar is gone, with Roslin, Baltar, AND Helo. I can't wait to see what happens next.
