Why? It's not as if it being season four or five will make a difference. If anything, it makes much more sense for them to be seasons four and five because they are split, but either way, you're still getting the same result.

Not when it comes to buying them on DVD. Why buy one season when you can buy two for twice the price? ;)

The writers strike isn't the only reason season 4 was aired so long after season 3, I remember reading back in April last year that they had plans to air it at the start of this year, which was still a massive gap.

The is no real reason for them to split this season in two, they've already made all the shows. They are only doing it to draw the hype out another year. Which is stupidly annoying.

Well, they've been doing that since season 1 anyway; releasing the DVDs as 'Season 2.0' and 'Season 2.5'. Same for the third season... So they wouldn't really lose or gain anything from that, I'd think.

Did anyone get that D had made a joke on Roslin by telling her that she was the final cylon? I hope the next episode finally outs all of the final five. If I have to wait until next year to see the conclusion, I'll give up on the show.

Obviously its gonna end up being a wait on who the 5th Cylon is. I'm pretty sure that and finding Earth are currently the two highest priority to both humans and Cylons. I think in the next episode, D'Anna will reveal some of the Galactica's Cylons to the public. If not, I don't mind. BSG has been an awesome series and I won't give up on it.

Judging by the promo for next week, it looks like the four will be outed to the fleet. Doesn't show anything about the fifth, though. Of course. :p I have a feeling we'll have to wait a while for that.

Last episode as in episode 20 of season four that will ultimately end BSG? That would be quite dumb since the final five, not four, know the way to Earth. Still irks me that Starbuck isn't a Cylon despite clearly being killed and knowing how to get to Earth with her emotional feelings.

Who says she isn't? ;)

I don't think it's possible for her not to be. Maybe the OLD Appollo is the fifth.

to me the fifth should be someone that is not a mayor character. Why? because they use that resource with 2 of the big characters and with two of "midclass" characters.

To me should be the lawyer, heh. But I dont discard starbuck as the last one (all because her freak show thats seems never to end)

I'm guessing the fifth final cylon doesn't have the same goals as the known four... perhaps he/she doesn't want to return to Earth and would kill the others to prevent it. I only think of that because next weeks promo showed President Lee Adama with perhaps Zarek or Lampkin at the air lock control... in any case, I think it's someone close to Lee and manipulating his decisions.

Excellent episode, loved it, can't wait for the next one.

Though I'm not amused we will ahve to wait so long for the second part fo the season.

I nearly had a tear in my eye at the end with Adama and Roslin, but I'm a right wuss for those type of moments, it was the same in Lost, lol.

And oddly enough, I was watching Idependance Day with the gf, since she hadn't seen it I bought it on the cheap, and Roslin is in it as the first lady, or presidents wife, however you would like to refer to the position.

Just thought it was amsuing.

Apollo is the fifth Cylon model!

And how do you figure that, if he is, wouldn't his father, adama be one too?

Or do you mean Apollo being the one form the original Battlestar series?

You guys, I'm glad you're using spoiler tags, but try to hint at what the tags are actually hiding (i.e. if it's hiding a spoiler from the last episode, that's cool, but if it's a major spoiler for a future episode or something, try to make it apparent, like "Kushan is the final Cylon!" for example).

Personally, I don't see how Apollo could be the final cylon, it doesn't really make sense for obvious reasons.

You know, I keep meaning to do spoilers like that, I think about it before replying, but then forget to.

Time to get into gear I think, lol.

but I agree with you on the points at hand too, that it isn't Apollo, but its definately Kushan. :p

Starbuck would make all the sense in the world for being the fifth.

Who is Kushan?

Please don't say you've never noticed him?

He's only like one of the bigger personalities in all of this. :p

Please resist the sarcasm, and tell me who that is. I did a search and came up with nothing.

BTW, when did I ever say I was a fan? I like the show, never stated I was a fan.

    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
