i just had a thought that explains kara.

what if she is ty and ellens daughter. being a true cylon child and that would allow her to be reborn the same way ellen said they would be 2000 years ago. since they forgot they were cylons over time they could of easily forgot kara and kara them.

^its a stretch but it may make her lucky #7

Ya know, I could see Moore doing something like this. To me it's like the attitude of, "You didn't seeeeee the person die, so they could be alive!"

I still wonder in what way the "Battlestar Galactica Earth" resembles real-life Earth. I mean our species did evolve on Earth, there have been ancient civilizations here etc. Why would a civilization capable of space travel revert to a hunter and gatherer like society? Next to that we still haven't seen a clear shot of "Earth's" continents proofing it's actually "our" Earth after the fleet's arrival, which kind of bugs me.

So in short: 1. Does the BS:G Earth share any of the real Earth's history or none at all? & 2. Is this planet actually Earth to begin with? That's what I'd like to know.

well you saw how a technically advanced civilization started living on new caprica, they werent very advanced at all. most of them wanted to return to something simpler to escape. so that would explain why they would revert back.

1. none currently

2. yes it is our earth just maybe not our time

kara has ellens promiscuity and tigh temper;

her "mother" fought in the first cylon war and soemone how might of came to possess kara either by choice or obligation . she was from an abused home, maybe someone knew something they werent sharing.

kara and tigh have always kind of had that estranged father daughter thing going. they are just at each others throats way too much not to be, and she is never good enough for tigh no matter how hard she tries.

damn you bsg for making me think about you on a monday....

The president woman is just so annoying now, I just want her to be killed off, she is so moany etc...

What if it is just a copy of earth? - The Cylons who were created by humans and exlied/left - went away and made a copy of earth? - Just like that episode of Stargate Atlantis; where the replicators had an exact copy of Atlantis?

There were billboards standing around showing housing and new apartment building projects, but then the Cylons arrived. Going from a temp solution such as tents with FTL-star ships standing in the background and in orbit to a strictly hunter-gatherer society is a big step. :p

That's what I've been thinking as well. We haven't seen a single clear shot of this Earth from orbit since the fleet arrived, so maybe the real Earth is still out there. On the other hand, with 9 episodes still left I think that won't happen.

yeah but it would also be thousands of years to go back to that, unlikely but plausible :)

It's definitely Earth, but only 2000 years (give or take a decade) into the future. From what we know, the human population was wiped out by a global nuclear war. It's possible that "our history" has already happened.

We're all Cylons: Battlestar Galactica?s last days

If your country was invaded and occupied by a foreign power, would you blow yourself up to fight back? If someone pointed a gun at your head and threatened to pull the trigger if you refused to sign a document you knew would lead to a hundred deaths (and you signed!), would that make you ultimately responsible for those deaths? Does superior technology give you the moral right to impose your will on a technologically inferior culture? If something believes it's a human being, acts human, and looks human, should you treat it as human? And what the hell is human anyway?

You wouldn't expect a mainstream television show to tackle such philosophically loaded questions, certainly not a show based on cheesy science fiction from the '70s, but if you've watched Battlestar Galactica since it was reimagined in 2003, there has been no escape.

Time Magazine named it one of the best TV shows of all time and called it "a ripping sci-fi allegory of the war on terror, complete with religious fundamentalists (here, genocidal robots called Cylons), sleeper cells, civil-liberties crackdowns and even a prisoner-torture scandal."

Whoa! I totally forgot about Caprica, the spin-off series and prequel to Battlestar Galactica. Watch the trailer here.

Is it true everyone's a Cylon? I keep hearing rumours about it. Please, say it ain't so.

Was it just me, or did that episode wreak of filler? Chief's baby isn't really his and Lee made a slip of the tongue about the final dead Cylon. Oh, we did see the start of an uprising within the fleet, but several of the scenes seemed to be drawn out. Last batch of episodes of the series and they gave us this? Last week's was awesome in comparison and I didn't find it to be that grand.

I do remember reading that filming stopped around episode 13(~15w/razor?) with the writer's strike and that Ron Moore had a long time to think about how he wanted to close the show and reworked his intended ending into something more spectacular when filming resumed.

While that may be true, wasn't it decided long before the writer's strike that the show would have 22 episodes (first 2 for Razor) and that the fourth season would be the last?

Another thing I'd like to point out. The hype behind the 5th Cylon was built up by the writers. "Seven are known. Four live in secret. One will be revealed." Half of season 4 was spent with those leading words in the opening credits, which makes the revelation a bust.

Yes, last night's episode was pure crap. Reminds me of just about every episode from S2E1 on.

nah... The episode was great. Its a revolution on a revolution on a yet destroyed ppl/community. Everyone is somehow leaving the show, thats what it seems to be.

and Lee made a slip of the tongue about the final dead Cylon

I think that (finally) explain why the last cylon wasnt important. This is not lost. "We" dont need a hang to keep watching an empty series. Galactica is more than that. By far.

If you try to remember how they get there, how Roslin was president and how she is ending, you will see how the character was developed. And thats just her.

We didnt expect either that kid wasnt the chief kid. And a lot less that was the hotdog kid, heh. She was pregnant when he was leading the revolution on that planet, and he didnt know that he was actually a cylon.

The series is about to end and I think that every episode is pure gold, because every character is saying good bye.

    • AMD releases hotfix for driver install issues on Windows 10 PCs by Taras Buria Earlier this week, AMD released an important graphics driver update. Version 26.6.2 brought AMD FSR 4.1 support to the previous-gen Radeon lineup, the RX 7000 series, giving users better upscaling tech that was previously locked to the newest GPUs. However, the driver turned out to be a little buggy, with users reporting installation issues on systems still running Windows 10. AMD quickly acknowledged the bug and today released a hotfix to resolve the problem. The AMD 26.6.3 Hotfix update is now available for download from the official website. Given that it is a hotfix release, it has only one change in its release notes: AMD announced the update on its official X account and added that a WHQL driver update with the necessary fixes would be released next week. Meanwhile, users can apply the hotfix or roll back to the previous driver using the official AMD Cleanup Utility. You can download AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.3 Hotfix Preview Driver from the official website here. It is compatible with all currently supported graphics cards and 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. Full release notes are available on the same page.

    • Amazon Prime Day 2026 deal sees Samsung Odyssey 49" 240Hz QD-OLED monitor at lowest price by Sayan Sen Earlier today we covered a very good deal on JBL's BAR 800 Dolby Atmos soundbar system as the unit is available for just $600 as part of Amazon Prime Day 2026 deals. That's not all though as there are many more discounts to choose from. If you are looking for a high-end monitor, Samsung's 49 inch G9 QD-OLED gaming monitor is a solid deal too as it's currently just $855 (purchase link under the specs table down below). It is a super-ultrawide (32:9) 1440p curved gaming monitor and as such should offer a very immersive experience. The G93SC is a 49-inch QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED) screen and that means it should have excellent contrast as well as color reproduction. Brightness is a bit lacking though so if you are looking to set it up in a relatively bright room, you may be better off with something else. Speaking of external light and brightness, the major difference on the G93SC vs the newer G93SD is that the latter comes with Samsung's "Glare Free" technology to reduce glare while the C model packs a glossy finish. The technical specifications of the Samsung G93SC are given in the table below: Specification Value Panel Type OLED Screen Shape Curved Screen Curvature 1800R Resolution DQHD (5120 × 1440) Aspect Ratio 32:9 Brightness (Typical) 250 cd/m² Brightness (Minimum) 200 cd/m² Contrast Ratio 1,000,000:1 HDR Support VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 HDR10+ HDR10+ Gaming Response Time 0.03 ms (GTG) Refresh Rate Up to 240 Hz Viewing Angle 178° Horizontal / 178° Vertical Color Support 1 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% DCI-P3 (CIE1976) Adaptive Sync FreeSync Premium Pro / G-SYNC Compatible DisplayPort 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 HDMI 1 × HDMI 2.1 Micro HDMI 1 × Micro HDMI 2.1 USB Hub 3 × USB 3.0 Speakers Built-in Speaker Output 5W × 2 Channels Operating Temperature 10°C – 40°C Operating Humidity 10–80% (Non-condensing) Stand Type Height Adjustable Stand (HAS) Height Adjustment 120.0 ± 5.0 mm Tilt -2° (±2°) to 15° (±2°) Wall Mount 100 × 100 mm (VESA) Included HDMI Cable HDMI-to-Micro HDMI Cable Included DisplayPort Cable Yes Get it at the link below: Samsung 49" Odyssey G93SC Series Curved Gaming Monitor, QD-OLED: $854.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US with Prime) Prime subscription can be cancelled within three business days at no cost. • Actually Windows 11 is the GUI from Windows 10 X slapped onto Windows 10. Hence the many performance issues and initial limitations of the UI, like all the restrictions on the task bar placement and features. You could not even right click on the Taskbar and bring up task manager when it first shipped. Windows 10X was truly a new OS from the ground up. Basically a lightweight OS that ran containers for various app types. Win32 got its own container. Performance was not good and OEM’s pushed back on it, but wanted a new OS to push Pc sales. Hence Windows 11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10X
