my conclusions from last night:

1. Kara is Ellen and Tigh Child, she was resurrected by there original resurrection ship where ever that may be.

2. Daniel is Gaius Baltar. They had that early cylon warning system Ellen mention to Cavil(john) where they all see someone to warn them. Of course that is head-six.

Those are good interpretations as well. I was curious about Ellen's "One true God" mantra she went on about to Cavil, she sounded a lot like Baltar's interpretation of a single deity controlling their fates.

@ Hupp

Baltar being the 7th makes sense and about Kara too, nice theory. I hope its true. :D

But didn't Galactica do a scan of the planet and around its orbit? All scouts reported the entire planet was nuked. I wonder where their resurrection ship is, perhaps its just a small vessel that even the Cylons on Earth couldn't find it due to the apparent war there.

In the Razor miniseries, you had the renegade hybrid and basestar, with the old cylons like the ones found on Earth. I'm thinking maybe they know something more about Kara since it was their hybrid that said she was the harbinger of death. Wherever the resurrection ship is, it's equipped with a pretty good metal shop too (don't forget the spanking viper)... well, only five more episodes to have all our questions answered or to be left hanging.

didn't her "new" viper have a ftl drive though? so that really does not limit where Ellen and the original 5 may have hidden their resurrection ship.

Don't forget, Cavil aka John said that Ellen had a small lab that they used to recreate (or create I guess) resurrection tech. Maybe that's where Kara came back, or maybe Kara didn't come back at all, or maybe it's something to do with something else entirely....

Great episode. I'm glad they revealed so much. The whole back story of the first Cylon war was very interesting. I knew Cavil hated the humans but damn, he's the most machine-like Cylon in all of Battlestar Galactica. The way he went on about wanting to see gamma rays and x-rays instead of visible light was just "cold". To be honest, I had no idea he despised having a human body.

anyone else think Ellen's colony is "our" earth? rdm said they reached earth and when pressed if its "ours"

They have found Earth. This is the Earth that the 13th Colony discovered, they christened it Earth. They found Earth.

for all we know "our" earth has a different name in this universe

I think it might be something like that. When Starbuck said she had found Earth at the end of the 3rd season, it zoomed in on North America. Definitely our Earth. When they landed on the planet called Earth, the planet was mostly shadowed and you couldn't really see any of the landmasses.

That's something I still don't get and I've brought it up right after the the episode where the fleet reached "Earth". In one episode they show us a picture of our Earth with North America clearly visible, but when the fleet actually arrives all we see are vague shadows from which we can't identify a single known continent.

Where did you get that idea? To me it seemed pretty clear she was talking about Earth.

John said; they don't know about your colony; all your equipment is still there. If its the "earth" the fleet went to and Ellen came from she would already know it was destroyed. I think that would of been mentioned, if it was the same location.

I also like the idea that Baltar might be a Daniel?

I had the episode on my DVR and watched it through for a second time again, from the Ellen spoke of the Daniel model being as if she had known it personally, and only mentioned that the copies being created in the goo and DNA sequence had been sabotaged, nothing was ever said specifically of the 'prototype' Daniel which already existed. I assume likewise for Cavils, John may be more specifically the prototype model 1, created prior to mass production of the model. If Baltar or another character is the Daniel, I suspect we find out next week.

Also, anyone notice the relationships between the thirteenth colony cylons and the humaniod model cylons, each have been paired off with a member of the other throughout the series so far. John and Ellen, Saul and Caprica Six, Tyrol and Boomer (will they get back together now?), Tori and Baltar (is he?), Anders and Starbuck (is she?)

Wasn't the brain doctor The PC off the apple Mac Ads?

Yeah, it's the same person. I noticed him right away. His signature voice and face... it just screams PC.

Anyway, does anyone remember the episode where they used the arrow of Apollo? It somehow teleported them to Earth because they were able to see certain constellations. At least that's how I remember it.

EDIT: Never mind. I kinda knew it was too farftech'd. Apparently, the tomb of Athena showed a holographic representation of Earth.

Regarding the 7 'Daniel',

I re watched the episode and noticed some interesting dialogue between Anders and Starbuck.

Starbuck: The 7... tell me.

Anders: Yes! 7... 7... 7 was the... Daniel.

Starbuck: You're sure about the word? Daniel?

Anders: Yes. He died... Daniel died. She was 7. I'm sure.

Anders refers to Daniel as a he and a she.

I just had a thought....

Kara "Starbuck" Thrace went into that maelstrom. Then she comes back, having seen Earth. Then she finds herself on Earth.

I think this... She swapped places. With herself. From another time.

?

Either way - one of my favourite episodes!

    • If you don’t get lucky with Valve’s Steam Machine reservation system, you can make your own Steam Machine instead. Valve says that “starting with the SteamOS 3.8 release, you can put together your own Steam Machine using whatever PC parts you want.” SteamOS 3.8.10 launched last week with a slew of updates, including “improved compatibility with recent Intel and AMD platforms.” Alongside that improved compatibility, Valve is giving gamers the green light to install SteamOS on their own desktops. In an interview with The Verge, Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais said Valve has been “rolling out improvements to [SteamOS] so it’s more compatible with desktop hardware,” including eventual support for Nvidia graphics. Griffais says Valve has “a growing team” working on Nvidia driver support for SteamOS, adding, “We’re collaborating with Nvidia very closely.” While he mentioned that Nvidia support might not come this year, Griffais emphasized that “it’s certainly something that we’re working on in the background.”     Subscription not needed: https://archive.fo/Tssfc Subscription needed: https://www.theverge.com/games/953411/valve-steamos-desktop-nvidia
    • I thought they were supposed to reduce the amount of restarts needed to install these updates? It took 3 restarts to install this update...
    • I know an idiot at work who is "Director for innovation projects" and inevitably has been tasked with following up on this whole trend of "AI and its work applicability". He recently sent out a survey on the topic, for the workforce to disclose their usage and attitudes towards AI. The survey was badly, sloppily typed out, the questions and answers (when multiple choices) were loosely correlated and, all and all, it would already be miserable in the times of MS Office Autocorrect alone. Then, I had AI responding to it all (on the open-ended questions) with beautiful, to-the-point prose after I provided it with minor but proper guidance, taking me under 10 minutes. All this to say that I am sure that if AI comes to replace someone, it will still be me, and the other idiot will still stay.
    • Man, the memories.
    • Call me when you can say, "Find all duplicate rows with duplicate email addresses and move the duplicate rows to a new sheet", and Copilot can execute that and not give you VBScript to write to do it. If anyone thinks AI isn't in its infancy and the bubble is about to burst, try to do anything meaningful in Excel with Copilot and you will realize AI hasn't even made it to kindergarten in most use cases yet.
