I know its a stretch, but Roslyn does seem to have a connection to Hera, ala opera house visions.

Dr. Cottle did inject her with Hera's blood early in the series to cure her cancer temporarily, so who knows what the connection really is, that it changed her in one way or another, and what is Baltar's connection? He believes in the one true God, Ellen has been on and on about Hera being tied into something orchestrating it all, the President is the atheist that's being pulled into the prophecy... the grand finale awaits.

With Boomer jumping away (back to Cavil's baseship presumably) it begs the question how did she and Ellen get to Galactica so easily (1 jump?) when Cavil's been searching for quite some time not knowing where the fleet is. Did Cavil really know and never attack just to set up Boomer kidnapping Hera? I would guess we'll see Cavil's forces arrive pretty soon to start setting up the final showdown.

Was it not him that gave Roslin the radio thing?

No, that was an eight IIRC.

Edit:

Ok, scratch my last. I guess he did help Laura with radio. I just went back and checked. Now ... how did I miss that?

I've got a feeling it might end with the entire human race getting wiped out, which would essentially complete the cycle. The human fleet is in bad shape, the rebel Cylons want to run and start a new life on their own but the final 5 are divided over their loyalties which in turn is preventing the rebel Cylons from just leaving. It's obvious Cavil is on the warpath (with essentially the entire remaining Cylon armada behind him) and won't stop till every human is dead....so honestly they are gonna need to pull a mighty big rabbit out of the hat to get out of this one...also I think when it comes down to the final conflict between Cavil and the humans, the rebel Cylons will either side with Cavil or just flee as I honestly can't see them staying to fight to the bitter end and risk their entire movement been snuffed out protect the humans who would (and have) turn on them in an instant.

Although there are some wildcards in there, we still don't know what Starbuck really is and what implications that might bring. There is potentially the beginning of yet another civil war within the Cylons (between the skinjobs and Centurions/Raiders etc) however, Cavil might of put in measures to prevent that, as we don't know whats really happening since Ellen escaped.

Please note this is purely my paraphrased interpretation of events and may be (slightly or completely) incorrect! so take with a grain of salt.

I've been thinking for awhile. What if Daniel is Kara's father? I think Kara is a Cylon-Human hybrid much like Hera. I've also been thinking about Earth before the first Cylon war. I think it's possible that the humans on Earth created resurrection technology to prolong their lives, but the Cylons merely re-invented it to create humanoid Cylons aka "skinjobs".

Some interesting thoughts there. Resurrection tech idea is quite possible, the humans could of had a program perhaps for the very rich/important (I highly doubt it was for everybody, this is the human race after all :p) where they cloned them and when they died their conciseness was downloaded to the cloned body. It's possible I guess perhaps they [the Cylons] either plundered it after defeating the humans or were able to steal it and therefor secure their victory against the humans.

The thing I don't completely understand is what exactly happened on Earth? obviously there was a global war and only the final 6 survived via resurrection (by why only 6? did they only have that many the first time? and I can't remember why the 6th was boxed again...). The thing I'm a little unclear of was who was occupying Earth at the time and who was the original aggressor? did they all live together and then the Cylons rebelled and wiped nearly everyone out? (as the final 5 saved the humans in the second rebelling) or was it a Cylon homeworld and the [remaining] humans [who survived from the original rebellion] attacked it?

Well I went and spoiled myself....I debated a while whether I should mention it here but here is the ending, don't read unless you want to entirely spoil the finale:

Includes images from last scene of final episode, so be warned!

The planet the Galactica crew found in the mid-season finale was "Earth," but the survivors of that disaster had traveled elsewhere and founded a new planet, also called "Earth" ? and that second Earth was the planet where you and I are living now.

Here are images which confirm this, with Number 6 standing in present day New York:

All we know is that a global nuclear cataclysm occurred roughly 2000 years prior to the second Cylon war. The "final five" survived the cataclysm and used their resurrection technology as a token to end the first Cylon war. They then flew through space at sub-light speeds to try and reach the 13 colonies. Humans made robots on Earth and they rebelled. Humans also made robots on the 13 colonies and they rebelled. The "final five" wanted to tell the humans of the 13 colonies to treat the robots with love and respect. Unfortunately, something happened when they reached their destination and their memories were either altered or wiped.

To answer your question, I think humans occupied Earth before they occupied the 13 colonies. In the Battlestar universe, humanity originated on the planet Kobol. At some point, a religious cult left the planet to settle on Earth. It seems to me that those humans were ahead technologically and spiritually than the rest of the humans in the galaxy. They seemed to have suffered the same nuclear cataclysm as the 13 colonies. As for the "final five". I think they were, at one point, regular humans. That was, until they first downloaded into a new more Cylon-like body. By Cylon-like, I mean more robotic.

As far as I know, almost everything revolves around the "final five". They gave the Cylons technology to make humanoid robots and to become immortal (resurrection technology). I guess you can't blame them though. I mean, at the time they made the deal... they figured they were doing the right thing. But that brings up one question. How did the Cylons of Earth differ from the Cylons of the 13 colonies? Forget the skinjobs, I'm talking about the actual robots. The Centurions, the Raiders, the Basestars, etc.

Anyway, I should probably stop there. My head is racing with ideas and possibilities. I just can't wait to see the last episode.

Cool, that is quite a twist and I like i:happy:y: I was wondering if they were going to try and link in "our" Earth into it...it was kinda why I was a little disappointed when they found Earth and it was devastated..

That would be a bad ending for me.

To me it seams that if we were all chilling out watching the news one day and all of a sudden they reported a giant military vessel jumping into orbit along with countless other ships. Don't you think we'd get ready for full nuclear war. Not trying to sound heavy on the US Military here, but I think it'd be a shoot first situation... we'll see.

The resurrection tech idea sounds fairly plausible. I mean, if you've read up on Caprica [the series], you'd know that it's supposed to be about the Adama family and another family, and the 'transplanting' of a dead daughter into a new body, and the feud that starts over it. Being a sort of 'prequel' to the whole Cylon War and all that, it sounds like it's a decent explanation. I'd still like to see how it pans out, though.

I'm still trying to get a good solid feel for Caprica. I mean, will it explain parts of the back-story? Like when Adama was in command of the Battlestar Valkyrie? Will there even be Battlestars? Any actual combat? I'm skeptical of Caprica but maybe it'll be pretty good. Here's to hopinh.

Wow, I didn't know that about the upcoming Caprica series. It should be interesting.

I hope it does. Maybe we'll see internal conflicts. Honestly, I think we've had enough space combat with Battlestar Galactica.

I'm VERY tempted to stop watching BSG now. And then watch the rest in one long session...

Me too. There are only 3 episodes left. The 2 hour season finale is supposed to air on the 20th. It's only two weeks (and 2 days) away. I don't think I could hold myself back from watching this week's episode though.

A description of Caprica

Set 50 years before Battlestar Galactica, Caprica follows two rival families and their patriarchs ? Daniel Graystone (Eric Stoltz) and Joseph Adama (Esai Morales) ? as they compete and thrive in the vibrant world of the 12 Colonies, a society recognizably close to our own. Enmeshed in the burgeoning technology of artificial intelligence and robotics that will eventually lead to the creation of the Cylons, the two houses go toe-to-toe blending action with corporate conspiracy and sexual politics.

It's not really supposed to be about the war. Battlestar Galactica is set 40 years after the truce with the Cylons. Not sure how long that war lasted but Caprica is more or less about the development of the cylons so.... if theres gonna be a lot of space action, it will probably be done near the end of the series. The reason for this is they wanted to make a different show than BSG, it may not carry the same audience as BSG did... tho I expect most BSG fans will watch. The action isn't really what makes BSG what it is, its story & character development, so if Caprica is as good on that front, then it should be great.

probably Caprica might be interesting but as many said, its more focused to characters development and stuff. Probably might have a long dialogs and no action at all (but I think they will exchange that action scenes with another kind of (sex) actions). I think that series might be boring. Dunno. By now we have galactica and to me whats make this show interesting is that has a military-civilian point of view and probaby we wont see that on caprica (where for sure all will be pointed to civilians and their 'boring' lifes) ...
