So, uh what the frak was Kara then? A ghost? Some sort of time ghost?

And Head 6 and Baltar, were angels/gods? Or is that supposed to be left up to us to decide?

Overall, the single best final episode ever. It couldn't have ended any better. And I loved the RDM cameo at the end :D

Alright, let's see if they answered all the questions..

- Opera house was the CIC

- Starbuck was an angel (:/ leoben's saying she was angel was right) and so were six-ghost and baltar-ghost

- All Along the Watchtower leads to Earth

I'll have to watch it again for more...

I'm still sad that its over :(

NO NEED for spoiler tags, its aired.

TV Guide Interview with RDM

Apparently this was jut posted about 2 hours ago by TV Guide. He answers some questions about the finale, and specifically certain aspects of the end of the show. So needless to say if you haven't seen the episode yet, spoilers ahead in that link.

Wow ...

Alright, that was one of the best endings to well ... anything. That was just well done.

I'll refrain from discussing this in detail until tomorrow but ... just wow.

PERFECT ending. I'm going to be up for another three hours just to watch it again.

question

at the end

baultar is like.."you know it doesnt like that name"..and then "silly me, silly me"

what was he referring to?

I thought Baultar said "he", either way they were talking about God not liking the name "God"

I thought Baultar said "he", either way they were talking about God not liking the name "God"

He did say "he". I don't really think the context matters, I mean why would the angels want to retain the forms of Six or Baltar after they have been dead for 150,000 years anyways? I think it just went back to Baltar in CIC saying God is on no one's side, and he can go by many names in many religions, and his divine plan may not always be humanity desires it to be.

I counted so many things in this episode that make me want to nitpick away at it but the series is over and closed out well enough that I'm just going to leave good enough alone.

All series have their flaws and Battlestar was no different. That being said, you need to accept that. The finale was very well done and it filled in everything nicely. Epic battle, passionate storyline. Was worth it.

I dont know, the last few episodes have been a real disappointment. I mean they are only, what somewhere around 30000 left and they would rather kill eachother before they actually put their differences apart and try to survive. Also whats up with all the soap opera drama story, it seem liek they've ran out of material... If I want ot watch a cheesy soap I'll tune into telemundo and watch the tele novelas.

The thing about Battlestar is that it's never been about *what you want to see*. Battlestar is a story. The episodes leading up to Daybreak were there to explain a few things. I have nothing wrong with the series as a whole. I really enjoyed it. Far more than I ever did Stargate and that's saying something.

Everyone will have their own opinions. As far as I am concerned, BSG is a pure masterpiece.

I loved the episode, and apart from some script elements, namely finding a way to conclude the Opera House drama which seemed trivial in the least when revealed, these 3 things really stood out to me. I'll nitpick these cause they don't really take away from the quality of the finale but just seemed out of place and continuity.

1. Starboard launch tube still has a "Cylon War" museum banner and artifacts of the first war. Despite four years of being on the run, did they never refit the starboard launch bay to be operational... I never noticed but ever shot was from the port side in the series of craft launches. You would think that with a mutiny and genocide, that there would have been at least one person who flushed that banner out the airlock.

2. Raptor strike team FTL jumps out of the Starboard launch bay... Boomer's raptor FTL jump was bad enough and she had left the bay, you would think 5 or 6 doing it would rip it off the side of the ship.

3. Lee's strike team gets through the opening that Galactica rams into the Cylon colony, disgard their helmets after finding atmosphere, then backtrack their way back to Galactica later? Hope they found those helmets where they left them.

I should've known. No real explanation to Kara Thrace except that she's an "ambiguous" character, as if that really makes sense with her having a real past and yet not being real. In other words, they really just made stuff up for her because she was key to the end. Ohhh, she was possibly brought back by he, it, God, something, but it's not explored, expounded, pondered... I give up.

Overall it was a decent finale. Maybe I'm alone on this, but a lot of the ending scenes were drawn out a bit much. The battle at the beginning wasn't epic, especially when compared to one of the prior major battles (which I was actually quite impressed with), but it served its purpose. What bugged me most about these battles was how the Cylon machines would react like humans, when they get shot they fling their bodies around.... say what? There were a number of other things to nitpick about, but in the end it really doesn't amount to being key to the plot. Several loose ends, though, that bug me most, where several tidbits throughout the show, some as of late, that seemed to have significance and yet were completely abandoned.

In the end, I don't see what this show has offered to be great story telling when I see other shows that have content that's far richer, riveting and gripping. It definitely had its moments, but I wouldn't put it among my top 10. I'm glad to see it end, though, so that things won't get drawn out, though there is The Plan... but I digress. Good-bye BSG!

I give up.

I think she answered the question herself in a previous episode. The old Kara Thrace was dead and she accepted who she was. I think she was real, all human, and just a screwed up girl altogether. I think she really died, then was reintroduced ambiguously as something supernatural, like a soul that had been resurrected. Something that the hybrids were plugged into as they always knew her role, and Anders last words were "See you on the other side" as if he knew she would be there waiting for him. Kara was Kara, and Kara died in Season 3.

I haven't watched the series beyond a few episodes, but I think it would of have been cooler if this was that something surprising that happens from the law of averages or whatever... The kid being the final harmony... not throwing it all away, but finally hitting that equilibrium

but, that's my view as an outsider :p

Starbuck's story ties into the original series though, which was the point I think. In the original series, Starbuck wound up on a planet alone with a woman, and a Cylon. He eventually repaired the Cylon (and they became friends) and fathered a child with the woman, who he then sent to the Colonial fleet with the woman and he stayed on the planet. But what wasn't told, was in an unproduced episode of the series, where the Ship of Lights beings (angels) had tested Starbuck to see if he was worthy of joining them and becoming an angel. The original series had the Ship of Lights, and the angelic beings on it, and interjected the religious, or supreme beingness just like our reimagined series has done here.

So in essence, RDM paid homage to that storyline by more or less making Starbuck here an angel, literally. Kara Thrace died at the end of season 3, and was resurrected by whatever force you want to call it, to lead Humanity to it's end (or the Cylons take your pick). Then when he journey was over and she finished what she had to do, she returned to wherever, to be with Anders.

Now I see people complaining online about how RDM just added his anti-technology, pro-religion etc agenda into the show and ruined it for some people. I think they look to much into the show as it is, but he was trying to make a statement. Maybe that's why he and a few others from BSG were at the UN the other day....

Balthar DID say "it"! (the point being, that version of balthar and the six.. and also Kara Thrace *were* metaphysical beings, angels or something else and spoke from personal knowledge!)

Well, thank god that's over.. absolute garbage from beginning to end. It was so far up it's own backside it forgot all about a cohesive storyline, I had a paulsied dog that walked a straighter line.... and the fact that so many people hail it as some kind of epiphany or masterpiece proves my point.. the viewing masses have never agreed on quality, just popularist claptrap.

The circular storyline was pure unadulterated cop out and so unoriginal as to make the whole show laughable. Maybe we'll get some good thought provoking cosistancy in whatever replaces it, although I honestly doubt it, because the tv people now know definatively that something doesn't have to be very good in order to garner the praises of the viewing public.

I wonder what the next 'gritty' reimagining will be..... Stop the world I want to get off.

I love this show and i am sad it is gone. I believe daybreak part 2 could not have been better. I did not need all the answers to every question. This is BSG after all it is a dark and sad show to have every question answered would have taken away from the sprite show. I believe the last 30 minutes where for only the hardcore fan few others could appreciate the reasons to have a 30 minute good bye that was so emotional.

It wasn't a bad final episode, I did find it annoying how they left Kara unexplained, but it did wrap up over all quite nicely though. Personally I found it a little too drawn out though, almost like it was just a normal ~40min episode that was extended to ~2hours but that might be just me though :/ The final ending showing the cycle still hasn't ended felt a little cheap but to be honest it's quite believable as it's not surprising that after everything they went though, humanity still missed the message. Not to mention the fact this cycle has happened at least one time before (old Earth/final 5 etc) was a tell tale sign they were doomed to forever live in this cycle....

EDIT: I think I'm probably gonna need to watch it a few times to fully appreciate this final episode too. I'll definitely gonna pick up the S4 DVD box set when it releases and add it to my collection

Is there a good explanation for why there were two "earths"? The first one they discovered (the radiation planet) had to be ours because they followed the star charts, which were the same constellations as ours, to get there. Plus did they not also show the North American continent. Then the second planet was also clearly ours, with the African continent and the flash-forward.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
