Fonze Posted January 12, 2003 Share Posted January 12, 2003 recently my computer couldn't boot, i keep getting some random errors about file access and the OS would finally just reboot itself. i booted off my windows XP cd and decided to just format and reinstall windows, since all of my important stuff is on a backup drive. When asked what drive i wanted to install onto it found my OS partition and the backup partition, but it found the backup partition with an unrecognized filesystem. the backup drive must be what corrupted and for some reason it messed up windows aswell. I'm in the process of installing windows now. Any file recovery software you would recomend? any free software? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Niels Posted January 12, 2003 Share Posted January 12, 2003 I had a problem like that, but my partition tables were screwed to hell and back aswell, try R-Studio's software (Get the full version).
