Ragde
Hello all. My friend recently just reformatted his computer. After installing everything (including drivers, programs etc.), he said that when he tried to open Sound and Audio Devices in Control Panel he received an error message. He resolved it by following a solution he found online where he said it required the XP cd and executed the Extract command in command prompt by copying over some files. However, recently while he was browsing around the menus he noticed that the Entertainment menu under Accessories was empty. He said that he already searched online about it - concluding that a few files might be corrupted but he has not found a solution yet. Any solution to this? Thanks in advance. kimsland
I only have two shortcuts in my Entertainment folder 1. Sound Recorder %SystemRoot%\System32\sndrec32.exe 2 Volume Control %SystemRoot%\System32\sndvol32.exe You could create these shortcuts yourself and add them to : %allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Entertainment (just Start - Run the above line to go to that folder)
Ragde
Thanks kimsland. It worked. Had to copy over the sndrec32.exe from the CD though. Cheers!
