neocyber_16
Quick question how do you install an exhaust tip? Do you have to remove the exsisting tip? If so how do you do that? And how do you fix car scratchs. I got the paint, what else do i need?
mwk3
well, it depends on the new tip you have and what's already on there. some aftermarket tips are put on w/ screws and some need to be welded on. if there's already a tip on there, you're prolly gonna have to cut it off. to fix scratches, if they aren't past the clear-coat, you can usually buff it out w/ some compounds. if it's not gonna buff out, you can put a little of the touch-up paint on there and let it dry. then you use a really light sandpaper and wet-sand it. make sure it's nice and wet, not just moist. then dry that off and buff that. since it's a light wet-sand, it should buff out. good luck and hope that helps
neocyber_16
do you need "primer" for the scratches, or is sand paper fine?
aco Veteran Posted January 14, 2003 Veteran Share Posted January 14, 2003 do you need "primer" for the scratches, or is sand paper fine? High grit wet & dry sandpaper should be fine for the paint to take, then you could wipe it with primer.
neocyber_16
what would be a good tool for cutting an exhaust tip? (i.e saw?)
mwk3
you can use a saw to cut the old tip off but if you have access to a cutting torch or something that uses manual labor, use that.
