Budious
You would think this to a simple task but I can not locate one on newegg nor radio shack websites. I need a 7.1 Mini-Jack PC Audio cable from my soundcard to a Creative S750 Gigaworks sound system. The original provided cable (speakers or audigy 2 platnium) uses a 3-to-4 splitter (Green, Orange, Black to Green, Orange, Black, Grey) to connect the 4 ports of the 7.1 speaker system to the 5.1/6.1 sound card device. I have a new audio card with 7.1 output (Green, Orange, Black, Grey) jacks that I want to connect to the 7.1 speaker system without needing to upmix from 5.1/6.1 audio output. I need a new cable to do this but I cannot seem to find them anywhere. Point me to a retailer who carries them! Also, I am looking an affordable audio switch that could switch audio input from two different PC's to the 7.1 speaker arrangement, preferably I would also like have my TV audio (RCA to PC conversion?) to connect to this switch as well. I have an unused 24" CRT that can do HDTV but it does not have sound so I was looking for a way to route RCA to my Gigaworks S750. At minimum, I want a 7.1 audio cable and perhaps a fast switch over device to route up 7.1 audio between two PCs to shared audio speakers. Update: This is what I'm looking for. (was looking for... apparently it wouldn't work... see the last image to understand why) This is what I have currently which only works with Creative sound cards. A helpful blog post discussing this very issue. http://problemstosolve.com/computers/how-t...nd-card-solved/ And the proposed solution to all of this mess. I am Reid
im not sure if I understand you, but try this for the cable. I doubt its what you are looking for, but its the only thing I could find when looking for 7.1 cable. http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/6channel/index.htm Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/597685-need-a-71-pc-audio-cable/#findComment-588959502 Share on other sites
Budious
No, I meant the mini-jack type for PC output. My above post is a bit overstated I guess. I need one with four mini-jack cables, preferably color coded to the 7.1 PC audio standard which consist of a green plug, an orange plug, a black plug, and a grey plug. I can't even find a standard 5.1 on newegg, maybe I'm searching the wrong terminology. Surely, someone must sell replacement cables if they do not come with sound card or speakers I don't know anywhere else to find them. Budious
Bump... here's an image of the cable I'm looking for... where I can buy one separate from speakers or sound card? Creative customer support sucks, they do not understand the problem or do not provide any replacements, cables, etc. You're never going to find this.... BUT!! I'm pretty sure this is a scam from Creative Labs. These cables are regular 3.5mm mini-jack cables rolled together in one piece. So you need only 4 separated quality 3.5mm mini-jack cables. Try this link: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...0&CatId=779 I have the same speaker system like yours and now I have almost the same problem. One of my plugs broke and I tried to find a replacement. I have 3:4 cable set, so I had to figure out which 2 cables are connected to one. Fortunately only the green wire is wrong which provides the front speakers' sound. So I need to order one cable from Tigerdirect and problem is solved!!! :) If not, I would buy your previous 3:4 cable set from you :) Good Luck!!! pcamz
Hi Guys, I have an x-fi with 3 3.5mm plugs and tried to use a standard 3.5mm Plug (4 Pole) To 3 RCA A/V Cable for 7.1 speaker hookup. This does not allow he side channels to work. So after a little checking I found all they have done is reverse the polarity of the side channels! OMG very sneaky ? This is why the side channels will not work with a standard cable. I have made a quick fix by making two female to male rca cables which reverse the polarity of the input rca signal. All you do next is get a standard 3.5mm Plug (4 Pole) To 3 RCA A/V Cable, connect the left and right (red and yellow) channels as normal to your amp, then connect the red (side channel) cable though the converter cable to your left or right side channel input on your amp and it works fin:D:D BTW I do mean yellow and white for the left and right, more tricks, you can check this using a multimeter. This is HEAPS cheaper than buying a ?special? :)ble :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/597685-need-a-71-pc-audio-cable/#findComment-589553449 Share on other sites
