All the networks are in a tight spot, TV is ad driven and DVR viewers skip ads (I know I do). With all the product placement in Chuck you would think this show is immune to the issue, but clearly NBC wants to squeeze every penny they can. Personally, I haven't watched live TV since my first Tivo in 2002 and I likely never will again (with obvious exceptions like a few minutes of channel surfing or the rare live event/sports I might catch.

WOW So Chuck won by a HUGE margin

Talk about a smackdown! (Or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days...Beatdown? Throwdown? Kerfluffle?)

The final results are in for E! Online's 2010 Save One Show—the campaign that lets you fans pick the TV series you want to save from possible cancellation—and the winning series triumphed by such a landslide, with more than 50 percent of the total votes, that the show's boss joked to me: "I've been sneaking in and hacking in to the E! computers!"

He kids, people.

So who's the big winner?

Drumroll, please…

"We are so thankful that our fans voted for Chuck in such a huge way," Chuck bosses Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak tell us today of their SOS win. "Though we are also a little frightened of their ability to control the Internet. Our fear aside, we are honored to have the greatest fans in the history of television."

(All "hacking" jokes from Josh aside, we can tell you we have technology firmly in place that prevents robo-voting and hacking…Even by "Intersect"-savvy fans.)

After starting off Save One Show with 20 contenders (all network series that have not yet received a pickup for the 2010-11 season), you fans narrowed the list down to six finalists. Nearly a million votes came in, and here are the final results:

  • Chuck 52%
  • One Tree Hill 20%
  • Life Unexpected 11%
  • Heroes 8%
  • Better Off Ted 5%
  • Parenthood 4%
The Save One Show battle also raged on Twitter, where thousands of you tweeted #SOS with the name of your favorite show. The series with the most tweets was yet another NBC series, which gets this honorable mention for having the most Twitterific fans: Heroes. Here is the breakdown of number of mentions on Twitter:

It deserves mentioning that the CW's One Tree Hill scored the runner-up spot in both races—not too shabby! The CW's Life Unexpected and NBC's Parenthood clearly already have much fan love even though they're brand-spanking new. And ABC's Better Off Ted should continue because "funny things should be allowed to go on living…that's how evolution works," according to show runner Victor Fresco.

Our secret prayer? That all of these fan-favorite series make it to another season. But again, this campaign is all about championing one show.

So now that you fans have spoken, we are happy to hold up our end of the bargain. Tonight on E! News, Chuck will be crowned our Save One Show winner, and we're taking your message directly to the NBC execs (we're coming to you, Jeff Zucker) to make sure they know you fans want Chuck to stick around--and your passionate and active involvement makes the show that much more worth saving.

The good news? Zachary Levi himself tells us he's feeling "optimistic" about another season, and as you can see from this video below, he is loving you fans for rallying. [Spoiler warning: Do not watch the video if you haven't watched last Monday's mind-blowingly good episode of Chuck! 'Cause Zach talks about what's next.]

If you're curious about the baby reference Zach makes in the video above, then you've missed out on yet another very good reason to love this show: The stars themselves care just as much as we do. After Zach joked that he would have Josh Gomez's (Morgan) baby if they made it to round two of Save One Show, E! News made him stick to his word by donning a baby bump, alongside Josh (wearing a "Hot Papa" T-shirt) while appearing at WonderCon among the fans. And yes, Zach and Josh did it, and as you who watch E! News know, it was awesome. You gotta love actors who aren't above getting down and dirty with their costar fans!

This kind of charisma and likability—which goes for the rest of the Chuck cast—is just one of the reasons this action-comedy deserves to survive. It's funny, it's always a good time, and it has a lot of heart. And hello…where else can we get Jeffster?!

So how about it, NBC? Can we keep Chuck? The "greatest fans in the history of television" have spoken, and we sure hope you'll make them happy with a pickup for the 2010-11 season.

P.S. I see some of you in the comments mentioning that Chuck won last year. It was actually Terminator in 2009 and this is Chuck's first win. One Tree Hill is the only series on the list to win before, in 2006.

Any idea when we will see new episodes?

Chuck returns 4/26, so a week from tonight. Then airing every week after that too, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, and 5/24 has 2 episodes that night. Not sure if 5/24 is season finale or not without checking. It is episode 18/19 that night plus some shows have been ending on either 18 or 19 this year.

I?m really not trying to toy with your emotions, Chuck fans. Honest. But I just received a fresh batch of extremely reliable intel that has led me to once again tweak the show?s status on my Bubble Show Scorecard.

After two anxiety-inducing weeks at ?could go either way,? I?m happy to report that Chuck is back to being a ?safe bet.? A well-placed source close to Team Bartowski whose name is not Josh Schwartz (scout?s honor!) tells me ?it?s looking good? that NBC will do the right thing and renew the show for a fourth season.

A final decision isn?t expected for a few more weeks, so there?s a good chance my buzzometer will fluctuate again.

as much as Id be delighted at a new season of Chuck...where on earth would they take the show to keep it hitting all the right notes it hits now?

      While LibreOffice is not pleased to see a new competitor, they are absolutely correct in stating that Euro-Office using a MS file standard as a default is not being truly "European." Using a MS standard just means Euro-Office is just a "bastardized MS Office Suite." (Wasn't a major purpose of Euro-Office was to get away from being captive and enslaved to MS's Office Suite??)

Windows 11 users can download KB5094126, which introduces plenty of new features and security updates, including the Low-latency Profile for better performance, shared Bluetooth audio support, and more. Windows 10 users with PCs enrolled in the Extended Security Update program can download KB5094127. In addition, Microsoft released new Defender updates for its operating systems.       Microsoft Flight Simulator's City Update 15 enhances Midwest cities by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The third major city update of the year has landed for the original Microsoft Flight Simulator and the 2024 release. The latest drop is upgrading the visuals and regional accuracy of three metropolitan regions in the American states of Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The 15th city update is adding eight new areas of interest that have been enhanced with high-fidelity TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing in the mentioned regions. The free update highlights Chicago, Elgin, Cicero, and Arlington Heights in Illinois, as well as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Duluth, Brooklyn Park, Woodbury, Lakeville, Plymouth, and Blaine in Minnesota. In Wisconsin, the development has also upgraded the lands and buildings of Milwaukee, Madison, and Racine. The update lands just as one of the world's largest enthusiast flight simulation conventions, FlightSimExpo, kicks off in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 14. The Flight Sim development team's 40-minute keynote at the event can be watched here. At the same time, Microsoft is bringing the 6-seat, single-engine, multi-use light civil airplane Piper M600 into the game as a part of its Expert Series 2 program. This premium plane can be purchased from the in-game marketplace for $24.99. City Update 15: The United States Midwest is now available in Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as the newer Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as an optional download. It can be accessed across Steam and the Microsoft Store for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions.
