Errrmm not too sure can't check till I get home either as GAME is blocked at work. Think that its around ?31.something + Quidco and GAME points - which should put me over the ?10 mark on GAME points, hopefully they will get some of the offical bluetooth headsets instock soon as I can't be arsed to wait another month after killzone for SOCOM to get a headset!

I know SOCOM is awful the beta was crap, but its the best way to get the headset, and then sell the game after! and a usb headset? bloody hell a wired headset is bad enough plugged into the 360 controller, without having some 4 metre wire running from my ps3 to me on the sofa!

I've recently learned that nothing can beat having a friend who works in HMV.

30 % off, so even if a game is priced at ?40 that's still ?28 with the discount.

I've got a friend who works for Sony - ?15 for all PS3 games (including new ones) and ?5 for all Sony Blu-rays (with some others as well - harry potter box set was only ?10, for example). No 360 games, obviously, but still pretty handy&;)3; ;)

Um PC World are doing Gears of War 2 for ?29.99, and Far Cry 2 or Halo 3 for ?19.97

I thought those were pretty good prices.

Gears of War 2 - ?24.96 @ Amazon.co.uk

XB2HA02.jpg

Halo 3 - ?13.70 @ Shopto

and Far Cry 2 is about ?20 everywhere else, but it's an awful game [iMO of course!]

They are all different companies, they just use the same supplier/design iirc. I read about it well over a year ago. ASDA and The Hut are in the same boat.

FYI, I made a list sometime last October/November and updated the OP with trusted sites & buying tips (Y)

Cool, no idea who's more reliable, so if I buy anything lucky dip :p

I'm reluctant to cancel my RE5 pre-order. The demo didn't really do anything for me, in fact I was a little underwhelmed. However I did manage to get it for ?30, so I'll have to see how my money situation is nearer the time.

Is anyone else facing the same predicament?

Saints Row 2 for ?0.01, back in stock in 21 days:)) Don't all rush at once. If anyone can find it for under ?17 anywhere I'd be interested to know - Chips and Sendit both have it at ?17.90

Also if anyone can find GH:Metallica on pre-order for under ?40 I'd love to see t:)t :)

    • Could you come up with a slightly less depressing background for Tux instead of that gray gradient? Doesn't have to be cheerful, just less of a downer...
    • Linux 7.2's first release candidate gets off to a good start by Paul Hill Credit: Larry Ewing It has been a few weeks since the release of Linux 7.1, and in that time, the Linux 7.2 merge window has been open, where developers can submit their features and patches ready for the upcoming release. That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August. If you missed it a few weeks ago, be sure to check out our coverage of Linux 7.1's release.
