[Official UK] Xbox 360 Special Offers & Deals

Recommended Posts

Ok Guys, need help my Xbox has RROD, and its out of warranty, so was gonna just buy a new one, as its probably just a little bit more than repair.

So idealy look for a Jasper Unit in the UK, any ideas or deals to be had?

I have my own HDD to plugin, so dont need to buy one with any Hard Drive.

It's out of warranty? You had a launch console?

Yep Purchased Dec 2nd 2005, or when ever they were released, has been repaired before, but warranty would have run out Dec 2008.

So looking for a better unit, with smaller CPU/GPU and lower power less heat.

Try phoning up Microsoft, as far as I am aware, once it's repaired, the 3 year warranty gets renewed. I could be wrong but it's worth a shot.

I thought they extended it by 90 days whenever it was repaired, which should still give you enough time to get them to repair it free of charge.

One word - Blockbuster.

I looked everywhere before looking online. Just ask at the local Blockbuster (Y)

What I did is explained that i was looking for the new models of the 360 arcade. After letting them know I knew how to recognise one they brought one out. I checked through the hole in the box and saw 12.1A so yeah - it's a jasper :p

I will give them a ring, but on Topic, would be appreciated if someone had info on the Jasper in the UK.

I've heard Blockbuster have been getting Jasper Arcades. If the store lets you look at the box, if it days 12.1A on the console in the little slot at the bottom it's a Jasper. That's all you can really do for now. Some shops will, some won't. Just say, it's not opening the box and they might be nice.

Lol, do they have a timer in these xboxes to die the day after they stop extended warranty.

Will give them a ring soon, and confirm if for UK.

Yeah pretty much I knew had to be instore, to check for the 12.1A.

I dont have Fifa 09, so might even keep that, lol.

Unfortunately not, I had mine repaired 5 times as a pre launch console (got it free from Bizarre :p) and they refused to repair when it was out of the initial 3 yrs, even though it had been repaired 3months earlier. I had to bite the bullet and buy a new one :(

That's a damn shame, but Pheee seems to have lucked out here.

I'm very tempted to buy a Jasper and sell my premium on.

I take it a Jasper is the newer one with the xclamp fix etc?

That has been changed since the Falcon chipsets when they moved the memory chips to a different position & a different cooling layout.

Jaspers are the same as well as the internal memory and smaller die size for the GPU like Kushan said.

Oh and they use Lite-On dvd drives.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
    • Neowin is saying these are good prices? Thats crazy. As others have said they are just ######. Time for big tech to bring down the prices for real not this fake crap.
    • The iFlyTek AINote 2 is among the thinnest E-Ink tablets. It has an EMR stylus, a built-in fingerprint reader, and plenty of built-in AI features. You had me until "and plenty of built-in AI features." That and any company that still does the iProduct naming trope is an immediate pass. It suggests the company isn't very imaginative or creative and is trying to piggyback off another company's success. Extremely lame. Also kind of expensive. Better choices at lower prices out there.
