if your copy is ligit, then make sure than any 'o's are not '0' or I as i or L as l, if you can understand that

on a side note ive just completed the solo single player and unlocked 'Dragonforce - Through the fire and the flames' and my hands are offically screwed up LOL my fingers have never worked so fast in ANY game before!!! ive had the song for a while on my PC but now i love it even more :)

yeah its legal, got it at gamestop yesterday. im just wondering if its on my end or someone else is having the same problem. should i go return it or contact the game company?

"The technical reason behind the high MSR's for a console port is that the technology of the latest generation consoles has actually surpassed the power of many typical user's home PC's. The main difficulty in porting Xbox 360 code to PC/Mac lies with Direct3D graphics rendering, the graphics code designed specifically for Xbox 360 that must be recreated to function for the PC/Mac."

Basically, what that means is that the bastards are too damn lazy to bother taking the time required to properly migrate the game to the PC platform. All they're doing is spending the least amount of money to have a halfassed pc version that they can sell for 50 bucks or whatever.. and people will buy. That's basically the purpose of all ports.. only a few select ports are well done, and those are the big games like Grand theft auto, which the companies spend a good amount of money on the porting process so it's not a crappily ported game.

The processor in your PC is well below the MSR's set for this title.

The technical reason behind the high MSR's for a console port is that the technology of the latest generation consoles has actually surpassed the power of many typical user's home PC's. The main difficulty in porting Xbox 360 code to PC/Mac lies with Direct3D graphics rendering, the graphics code designed specifically for Xbox 360 that must be recreated to function for the PC/Mac.

The biggest challenges, especially when setting MSR's for this product have been re-engineering graphics and shaders to the PC/Mac pipeline. In addition to the graphic-specific issues, the Xbox 360 code is designed for multi-threading all data across its three processing cores, so it can be challenging to efficiently redirect all that information to the single or dual core that comprises PC/Mac processing.

All current generation consoles (XBOX 360 and PS3) ports to PC have come with rather hefty MSR's. Guitar Hero III is a timing based game and, because of its unique game play, we feel that the current MSR's provide the best experience for our users.

Feel free to take whatever legal steps you feel are necessary, we have fulfilled all legal obligations by clearly placing the minimum requirements necessary to play this game on the box.

Shakey, I'll show you as much respect as the rules of this forum demand, but it's bloody obvious that you threatened them with legal action because you don't meet the requirements for the game.

You threatened to sue a company because you're computer isn't fast enough to run the game.

You're a moron, and lucky that Aspyr replied to you so polietely!

ya, im using fretts on fire with gh1, 2 , 80's, and 3 songs. It runs so much smoother and sounds the same, at least with gh mod i have for it.

The whole point though is, this game should run on my computer. They did a horrible job porting it. I saw the system specs, but i also played it on the 360. I used my common sense, which usually works well with every other pc game, and said, hey, this doesnt involve anything like crysis or cod or gow or lost planet. I know what my pc can do, and i know what sort of games it can run. This game should run on it, but because of their laziness, it wont. GoW recommends the same, but i can run that. Crysis has higher, i can run it. UT3 the same, i can run it. Lost planet, the same, but i can run it.

Companies keep putting things like this out. Hell, there is a picture on the box that shows it running on a little bitty laptop. Im still trying to find laptops that have 8600gt's in them to run it. lol.

does anyone know how i can unlock the Marilyn Manson song? im gonan take a guess and say that you have to play every single song... am i correct?

Seems like its a downloadable track for the 360 only.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
    • I suspect one reason its hard to justify subsidising is that it's not a locked down device like a traditional console is. In this climate sadly if it was a "good deal" you'd get people hoarding them for anything but gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is £1300 here ($1720) for some context on how other SteamOS like devices are now priced. I got the older Z1 Extreme model for £300 with a dock, just shows how insane prices have got recently.
