The_Decryptor Veteran Posted November 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2007 apparently there are still 700 bugs ish that havent been fixed and 120 ish may still be left in 3.0 final:( they should just push the release date back, i dont wanna have to have for 3.02 to get a stable firefox3. im gunna hold off until rc3 or later to give it a whirl. There's hundreds if not thousands of bugs in the version of Firefox you're already using, putting a number on it doesn't make it more unstable. Edit: About page zoom and the new UI, page zoom works depending on the way the page is written, some scale everything larger (so you have to scroll left and right), but some pages just make the elements larger while still fitting to the window width, and the new UI is coming in B2, or so i read. NienorGT
Wasn't Firefox 3 the major new / uber leet version of Firefox? I don't see anything much new and what is new hardly amounts to a whole version number change. There lot of changes, lot are under the hood.I do think that FF3 is more better over FF2 than FF2 over FF1.5 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/602010-firefox-30-beta-1/page/2/#findComment-589005103 Share on other sites

Nicholas-c Veteran Posted November 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2007 So where's the native UI? I'm running it under Vista and it still looks as gross as Firefox 2.x did. both the GUI and UI weren't worked on until ending stages of firefox 2 betas last time round Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/602010-firefox-30-beta-1/page/2/#findComment-589005139 Share on other sites
Joel
When I opened it and went to Neowin.net, it looked like this. Like the old Neowin, I want Maxthon to do this, but it won't! Can anyone help? That's what Neowin.net looks like. There's nothing old about it, that's this year's release. LOC Veteran Posted November 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2007 My back and forward (and stop etc) buttons are greyed out and don't work in this build. When I close FF, it goes to 100% cpu and nearly melts my system. Uninstalling until a new build comes out and just using the RC from the other day (which works fine) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/602010-firefox-30-beta-1/page/2/#findComment-589005152 Share on other sites

McCrap
Not only is this build way faster in rendering(when compared to v2 & opera), it is also really memory efficient & releases unused memory on the fly. Kudos to the Firefox Team. Can't wait for the final build. 1Frothy
Meh. I don't like Firefox 3.0 Beta 1 much. It seems slower to load pages and memory utilization is clearly higher than with Firefox 2.x Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/602010-firefox-30-beta-1/page/2/#findComment-589005305 Share on other sites

Freedom Phantom
well , I'm currently using more than 15 addons, and they are all without exception incompatible with firefox 3b1. Have you tired forcing the compatibility? I'm running the beta, and I've forced most of my extensions to work. Just need to disable the compatibility check and then disable the ones causing the browser to be unusable. Nightly tester tool - Its not updated for Beta 1, but im sure it will be pretty soon. or the hard way type about:config into the address bar. Then right click on the list and add a boolean and name it: extensions.checkCompatibility Set the value to FALSE, and you should have full access to your extensions. Just weed out the ones that are causing problems. Just keep in mind that this stuff can cause firefox to become unstable and crash. So handle with extreme care.
