Terminator Salvation : The Future Begins

10:30 :(

And T2 you can watch many times. I love Robert Patrick, he's the best Terminator imo. Although not the sexiest thats for sure

Yes.. T2 had the best fights IMO. It's hilarious when they were in the hallway. AHHHHNOLD says.. ' GET DOWNNNN ' . Conner drops then he starts blasting Patrick with the shotty. Then they both get hold of the gun, swinging both of them into walls. Then I would think.. why doesn't the gun break? LOL.

I enjoyed the movie when I first saw it, but when I saw it again recently I was surprised at how it was nothing like I remembered.

I have no clue how it got 70%.

Heh yea, that was great, with the box of roses :) My favorite is at the end when Sarah was shooting him and he just wags his finger and shakes his head. Terminator fights are great where they smash each other through walls, I suppose that will be missed in this movie unless Marcus has some fight scenes which I'm sure he does. T3's was quite good too, love when she kicked his head off. Nothing beats Robert Patrick though, when he's running at the car and jumps on the back heh. Simpsons spoof on that scene was amazing. Speaking of which...

ouch

Chicago ? McG?s loud-and-annoying ?Terminator: Salvation? with Christian Bale and Sam Worthington continues the summer of non-Trek disappointments, delivering nothing but a bloated exercise in CGI overload. With awful dialogue, a ridiculous plot, and mostly uninspired performances, the interesting human element has been drained from the franchise. The machines have won.

Rating: 2.0/5.0 Like ?Aliens? without Sigourney Weaver or the first two ?Terminator? movies without Linda Hamilton, ?Terminator: Salvation? forgets a cardinal rule of action cinema - writing human characters that the audience is going to care about. The entire movie plays like a video game tie-in to the original franchise. Sure, it may be fun at times and it looks good, but it doesn?t have nearly the impact as its source.

You put 1 and 3 on the same "par"?
I can see where he is coming from. In T1's time there would be no comparison but judging from a present standpoint, I think I would get about the same level of enjoyment from re-watching T1 as I would T3. T1 just feels too old and cheesy now.

Yeah. Remember, I'm only 21, so C++ is exactly right. The story in 1 is better, there's no arguing there, but it's certainly aged. The action scenes in the 3rd film were great, and I loved the ending, so I was able to overlook it's otherwise unnecessary existence. So for me, yeah, I'd put them on the same level.

On a side note, I thought Nick Stahl's John Connor was more in line with how he was depicted in the 2nd film than the ultra grim Connor that Christian Bale went for. While Bale's involvement is what got me excited about this film in the first place, I was disappointed at how little his demeanor matched the somewhat angsty character Edward Furlong and Nick Stahl played.

Terminator Salvation has been met with generally unfavourable reviews by US film critics.

The hotly-anticipated sci-fi sequel, directed by McG and starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington, has failed to impress the movie industry's top reviewers.

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times said that the blockbuster "raises many questions about the lines between man and machine. Raises them, and then leaves them levitating", adding that the relentless action sequences "give all the pleasure of a video game without the bother of having to play it".

Time's review criticised Christian Bale's performance as freedom fighter John Connor, calling it "surprisingly soulless, hitting the same dour notes he uses for Batman", while The Hollywood Reporter said that "there's little sign of life where the flatly executed human component is concerned".

Screen International's John Hazelton said that the film possesses "very little of the human drama - or humour - that gave the original films their broader appeal".

The New York Times, however, was happier with the franchise's latest entry, noting that it has "a brute integrity lacking in some of the other seasonal franchise movies" and "feels both comfortable with its limitations and justly proud of its accomplishments".

Terminator Salvation opens today in the US and in the UK on June 3.

I mean .. as much as I wanted this movie to be great because i still remember going as a kid to the theater to watch T1 and the intensity and emotions it evoke even as I was older, I'm not surprised that it blows. You can have the greatest actors but when Charlie's Angels and TV show director (like Chuck and Fastlane) is behind the camera, you can't expect it to be great.

I really don't know who made a decision to give this movie to McG. There were so many more talented and more suitable directors to do this reboot that it saddens me they've killed this franchise when it could've been something truly great.

His character was definitely more in line with Edward Furlong's character but I thought both of them to be wimps considering who Connor is supposed to be. Bale's version closely resembles the original John Connor who is seen very briefly in T1.

Bad reviews don't really bother me, The Sarah Connor Chronicles series suffered the same fate but I still really enjoyed it. Every review seems to point towards the lack of human connection, so I'll be watching that closely when I go tonight.

Appearance wise, definitely. I noticed that while watching it last night.

But we only ever see him in T1 during that brief cameo, so when it comes to attitude, I've just always assumed the reluctant Connor seen in T2 and T3.

Of course I realize I'm way over-analyzing this, but eh, I'm a Terminator fan-boy I guess.

Naw man I know where your coming from. I just assumed somewhere down the line he manned up. Especially after judgement day. In T2/T3 he was still trying to prevent it. I assumed after he realized he couldn't he stopping being a lil fairy. Appearance wise they match for sure and I think the attitude as well. Connor in that brief scene looked ****ed. And we all know Bale can get easily ****ed :)

Sure plenty will disagree, but this is perhaps the worse summer movie I have ever seen. Nothing but a quick cash in on the name of an already established series. Which that is what makes it even worse, as I personally thought it had the potential to be at least really good. I thought it was claiming to be "serious," and I believed perhaps they somehow made the whole man vs machine underlying tone relevant to society today. LOL What was I thinking...

Acting. Script. Editing. Cheesy Characters. The List Goes On. Whatever it was, it was all done poorly.

I honestly believe the special effects were way, way better n Terminator 2 which was done how many years ago now?

One or two amusing action scenes, then the rest just played second fiddle to what was just an unbelievably corny plot. I just could not overlook that fact so it became painful sitting through the second half of the movie.

As I said, I am sure plenty will disagree with me and will find enjoyment and love the movie, just not my type of movie at all. To me it is a classic example of a "Summer Blockbuster," all style and no substance. Meaning no story at all and all effects, which sometimes I can actually stomach, but I just thought the acting was that poor and obvious.

I actually now believe the infamous Christian Bale flip out tapes with him yelling at the guy were a result of the fact he does consider himself such a serious actor. Rightfully so I may add as he was brilliant in American Psycho and The Machinist, but I honestly and truly think he had to know how bad the acting was, so he lashed out on that guy out of the sheer frustration of coming to the realization he sold out big time and was giving the worse performance of his career.

I thought it was pretty damn good. Granted the dialog was pretty bad and other than the main characters the sode ones weren't given much time to develop. I'll post my more in depth review later as I'm leaving the theater now. But the cg Arnold looked pretty good IMO. It was brief but looked like he did it T1. You could tell it was fake but I was impressed all things considered.

Just came back an hour from the movie and it was decent. The effects and acting were pretty good, but the storyline didn't flow too well and was very predictable. I was totally waiting for Conner to use the radio device use it as a lie tester of sorts on Markus.

Before I head to sleep, I will say if you go in expecting something like the first 3, you will be disappointed. It's on it's own. If you let it, you should enjoy it. It's quite different then the originals even though its set in the same world.

Btw, sweet office sig gaze.

Well just came back and I have to say that the only word that describes this movie was blah. It's such a soul-less flick that they've completely ruined the desire in me to see any other Terminator movies.

Bale doesn't have as much screen time as I expected and for the most part he's either talking on the radio or whining.

The real hero of this movie is Marcus and his whole existence is completely illogical. I had absolutely ZERO emotions for any of the characters and was just kind of "meh" when someone got killed. This is the major problem. There is zero character development.

The movie doesn't even deliver on action. It has 3 major action points in the movie (the gas station, the Marcus running away and Skynet destruction). Let's not even go into the fact that Skynet sequence was a ripoff from Terminator 2 with the whole melting steel. What's even more surprising is that T800 remains operational after that hot steel covers it when in T2 Arnold gets melted away when he goes in it.

Complete disappointment. And WTH at heart operation in the middle of the desert.

I mean I know it's Terminator and there has to be some suspension of belief but this is pretty out there. And let's not even go into the super cheesy and overly done "Come with me if you want to live", "I'll be back" lines and the whole laughable (the whole theater actually laughed their asses off) at CG Arnold.

Sad. They've completely managed to kill this franchise. Terminator 3 was pinnacle of cinematography compared to this B-level flick.

When you get out of watching it, if you go and watch it, you will clearly feel that Bale so half-assed this project and that it was super easy money for him.

Thoroughly disappointing.

The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it.
