Well I got a new copy of the Sigma 70-200 2.8 and it focuses a lot better and is sharper.

Shot with my Nikon D50, ISO1600, F2.8-3.5 and 1/250-320

God those are sooooo noisy! Makes me afraid to take my D50 to a basketball game.

Indoor basketball is damn dark it's nearly impossible to get out good shots without some pumped up ISO and fast lens. Your shots are pretty good though I'm noticing white balance issues. I like the last one.

Nice shots Brandon. You can always correct the WB issues with post processing.

nice action shots. The D50 is not a solid performer when it comes to noise, especially compared to the d200/D300 or D2x/D3. You can of course remove it later using neat image or noise ninja, but its always better to have a sensor that deals with it better in the first place. Also as mentioned before, some white balance issues, but if you shot raw, they can easily be adjusted...a little harder if shot in jpg. Overall great work though! to anyone who complains, try shooting in an arena or indoor gym, its very hard without a fast lens and good iso capabilities.

I shoot sports in JPEG. D50's RAW buffer is only 4 or 5, so it gets filled too quickly vs 12 for JPEG.

I can't wait for the D90.....

ur shots will benefit alot with a d300, u already got the composition skills for bball, u just need better gear.

mm if u want a camera bad enough ull wanna find a part time job or start shooting something that pays :p mm lets do some math.. say u earn 10 an hr, and work 16 hrs a week (say just for weekend) then u'll get 160 per week and say u work 3 weeks in a month then thats 480 per month... say u work part time yr round then thats around 480x12 = 5760 (so almost 6000) u can afford a d300 which is 1800. and plus u get the benefit of having work experience on ur resume which is better for finding future jobs.

Still felt too much yellow/green. Play with your hue/saturation or edit in Camera Raw.
