Heroes Volume 3 : Villains

Recommended Posts

I agree but I did add the words thoughts to the post so people will speak and discuss them.

Thank you Rappy, I said that a few pages back but it seems that those of us who feel the show isn't as good as it used to be aren't allowed to join in. Anyway did anyone else notice Maya suddenly lost her strong Spanish accent in season 3 and is now an American?

You should know, however, that your opinion is worthless to most of the posters on here because we know how close-minded and 'in the bag' you are for any show that you like. They could have Peter crap out a lightning bolt and throw it through Arthur to kill him, and you would tell us how it was the best thing ever.

I can NOT tell you how WRONG and judgemental you are, you always are! Not just you, but most of you that you seem to mention!

Whatever! I know I now DON'T give a **** what YOU think about me cuz you are Obviously WRONG about me! Sometimes I laugh to myself just HOW Ridiculous wrong you people ARE wrong about me, but in the end of day this is just a forum with different people with different attitudes, I try to NOT lose sleep over it!

I AM well proud of my Intelligence, and OPEN mindness, and I don't have to listen to your BS about me here I think most of you are actually the ones CLOSE minded and getting to arrogant all the time!

*SIGH*

Anyway, however, for the benefit of this thread, I want to be DONE with this childish bickering and stupid flaming that you guys always insisting to resort to!

You don't have to respond, and I DON'T have to, myself!

Let it be OVER!

You sir are the one who started this mess to begin with.

Maybe this is going to far with another post, but it has to be pointed out. Someone made a comment about the show's decline and you are the one who started that you "think anyone in this forum like to pretend they could write and make it work better... Go head, make your OWN show! And let's see if YOU really can do it better!!!"

So don't try to blame anyone else on this "bickering" and "stupid flaming" but yourself.

I still 'Whatever' to that anyone on this forum can actually write better than show's writers!

I mean, that's NOT just opinion that the show's quality is bad, but it's the MOST useless and unproven arrogant statement that I have a Big issue with!

IF you really Can write better, then PROVE it, that's what I said and what I will stand by!

I am not going act so arrogant and say I can write better, UNLESS I can Prove it! And, I suggest that you PROVE what you say, otherwise why should I believe/respect it?

I think it's his excessive use of exclamation marks that throws people off. It kinda makes him look angry and confrontational all the time, maybe without meaning so. Dude, Jedi, try losing some of the exclamation marks. It really changes the tone of your posts

Anyway, I still enjoy Heroes, but also notice that writing has gone quite sloppy. I have never left a show I liked midway, but Heroes is really trying my patience right now.

How would you like them write it?

I still 'Whatever' to that anyone on this forum can actually write better than show's writers!

I think the show's writer's can do better than the effort they've put forth in this season, but I think they've been hampered by some corporate big wigs who thought that the rotating cast idea that the show was supposed to have wasn't a good idea because they didn't want to lose Milo or Hayden's "star power".

But the show's past the turning back point now.

How would you like them write it?

I wouldn't go as far as calling it poor. I just feel it does not live up to the first season.

There are some things that annoy me to no end. Hiro, with his declining maturity level, and being relegated to some sort of comic relief (and trying too hard to be funny). What Arthur did just makes it worse. Of all the things that he could do to kill Hiro, he had to pick this. Maya, from the hardened woman with traumas, escaping to the US through some more traumatic events, and becoming the housewife-ey type once she met Mohinder.

As I said, I still enjoyed the show. I'm not claiming to be able to write better (god, I couldn't even write a 1-paragraph essay) but still think that the writers could have upped their standards a notch to something more on-par to season 1, where we care so much about the characters and their stories, and eagerly anticipating the following week to tell more about the characters.

Right now I just don't really care about Nathan, Mohinder, Hiro, and Claire's storyline. But it may just be me :)

Seriously, say HOW the show is not working... what parts of writing are poor?

And, HOW should it be written instead?

Well, how about we start with the over used twin? If they wanted to bring Ali Larter back, they shouldn't have killed the charater.

As I've said numerous times, there's no real consequences. If something happens, Peter or Hiro can just go back in time and change things. Which goes contray to the grandfather paradox.

I just don't care about any of re characters anymore. They are all dumbed down now (Peter being manipulated so easily by Adam; Mohinder turning out to be a bad guy; Sylar turning out to be a not so bad guy and the fact that he's even still alive erks me).

I can go on if you want, which I'm sure you'll easily rationalize every single one of my problems with the show, so there's no point in going on.

Think its been posted in the many threads created to help heroes :p

But its a good read, I love the show as I have said many times before and yes things need fixing, but I think some people over think the show to much to just enjoy it for what it is but I agree stuff needs fixing when you go in depth.

Shot from 3.12 (Spoilers of course!)

Are you blind?
Forgive me if this had been posted, but for the most I agree with how the EW feels about Heroes: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20235213,00.html

Hey!

PROBLEM 1: TOO MANY HEROES

SOLUTION: RETIRE SOME CAPES

Kring originally envisioned Heroes as a series that constantly refreshed itself by routinely phasing out characters, but he backed off after the show became a ratings hit — making the cast breakout stars — in season 1. Three seasons later, however, it's time to trim the fat by either killing some top-tier Heroes (hello, genuine life-and-death stakes!) or giving one or two a permanent happy ending. Then shore up the audience's emotional investment with the show's favorites by adding more single-character episodes like ''Company Man,'' the season 1 classic that focused almost exclusively on H.R.G. (Jack Coleman).

Great idea!

also..

host = ando? ehhhh????

hiro would be too obvious, and if they knew the future they would know ando and hiro are still together.

also previously when hiro sees ando "kill him" there arguing about the forumla. thus far it hasnt explained the scene. ;)

Actually that's a good inconsistency that I didn't think of. At that point in time, the formula was already in use because anyone could get abilities, and yet Ando killed Hiro for the other half of the formula, but to what end? Oh wait, there I go again criticizing the show...

    • This is how much iPhone 18 Pro could cost after Apple's price hike confirmed by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed in a recent interview that the company may have to raise prices on some of its products due to the ongoing memory shortage. While he did not elaborate on the scale of the price hikes, new estimates suggest that Pro iPhone models could become significantly more expensive this fall. The Wall Street Journal and research firm TechInsights have come up with an educated estimate of how much the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro could cost after its launch in September. The estimate is based on current increases in memory and storage chip prices. For starters, the iPhone 18 Pro base model is expected to feature 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. According to TechInsights estimates, 12GB of DRAM for the iPhone 17 Pro cost Apple $39 last year. However, for the iPhone 18 Pro, the cost of the same amount of DRAM could soar to $145. Likewise, 256GB of flash storage that previously cost $13 could now cost around $51. Producing a base iPhone 17 Pro reportedly cost Apple around $582, but TechInsights estimates that the production cost of the iPhone 18 Pro could rise to $726. If Apple wants to maintain the roughly 47% profit margin it enjoys on the iPhone 17 Pro, the base price of the iPhone 18 Pro would need to reach $1,371. After standard pricing adjustments, customers could end up paying around $1,299 for the base model. However, that may not be the end of the story. As we previously reported, the iPhone 18 Pro is said to feature a variable-aperture lens, which could cost Apple at least 50% more than the current camera system. The estimated $1,299 price tag does not include the additional cost of this upgraded camera hardware. Once that expense is factored in, the base model could cost at least $1,399. A $1,399 price tag for the base iPhone 18 Pro would represent a significant increase over the current $1,099 starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro. If Apple wants to keep its upcoming iPhones competitive, it may need to accept lower profit margins.

    • Google Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer is leaving for OpenAI by Pradeep Viswanathan Noam Shazeer is best known as one of the co-authors of the 2017 “Attention Is All You Need” paper, which introduced the Transformer architecture that now powers most large language models. He also worked on several major Google AI projects, including LaMDA, before leaving the company in 2021 to co-found Character.AI. He also authored the Sparsely-gated Mixture of Experts (2016) paper, which is popular among the AI community. After falling behind OpenAI and Anthropic a couple of years ago, Google brought Shazeer back in 2024 as part of a major deal with Character.AI. Through this deal, along with Noam, several other researchers returned to Google DeepMind. More recently, he was a vice president of engineering at Google and a technical co-lead for Gemini. Today, Noam Shazeer announced on X that he is leaving Google and joining OpenAI. In his post, Shazeer said it was a difficult decision to move on, adding that he was proud of the Google team and what it had built together. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman welcomed the move with a post of his own, saying Shazeer was one of the people he had most wanted to work with since OpenAI’s early days. Google has made strong progress with Gemini over the past year, closing the gap with OpenAI in several areas. But losing Noam Shazeer is a major talent setback for them, especially after bringing him back less than two years ago by spending a fortune. For OpenAI, the hire adds one of the industry’s most experienced language model researchers to a team that is already pushing ahead with ChatGPT, Codex, and its next generation of frontier models.
