The nearest confirmed High Frame Rate showing is about 350 miles from where I live. That's a bit excessive just to watch a film, though I have relatives that live nearby - it might be time to arrange a trip up to see them. :D

Listen to Howard Shore's full Hobbit score now!

Yesterday Peter Jackson and the team behind The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey released the full theme song from the movie, sung by fellow New Zealander Neil Finn. As if that wasn't enough of a treat for Tolkien fans, today Empire premiered the film's full official score.

Building on recognizable themes from his work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, composer Howard Shore brings us back to Middle Earth with just under two hours of music. Fans of the previous scores are sure to pick up on a few very familiar pieces, including personal favourite "Concerning Hobbits" as part of the "Old Friends" track at around the 9 minute mark, but there are enough new themes present to truly make this a new experience for music lovers.
