Here's a few pictures of my new computer. The IBM under the monitor was drawn on so I edited that :p it's just there to keep my monitor at a good height. I need a new desk though. The laptop is on my Logitech speaker box to keep it at a good height too.

PS. Ignore the wall, my room is in the basement which was never finished (my dad and I are going to start finishing it this weekend).

what tv is that? like exact model number. and how much do they run for these days...its very slick. never seen that size from sony in the bravia line up.

its a discontiuned model know its the kdl32s2530

so its a 32" but yeah I payed ?700 with staff discount when it came out and the final price before we sold are last one was ?500!

Got me several of these laptops for ?60 the other day hehe:DD

You take some incredible pics fella :woot::

Are you still using a 350d?

Ive just bought one of these...not tried it yet..only got the kit 18-55 lens.

Me being a total novice this is pretty complicated to me ..normally only use auto mode.

What sort of settings would you use for indoor pics like the ones youve posted...i know your not using the kit lens but any info would be much appreciated.

probably the 350d for me is overkill bu had to buy one when i found one going cheap.

Thanks

Thanks :D I'm using the 350D still yep with the 17-55 lens but you can get just as good results from your 18-55 too :)

For those kind of shots you really do need a dedicated flash gun (I'm using the 430EX speedlite) to bounce the light off the ceiling or wall to get the all round lightness feel. wide apertures also help in keeping depth of field nice and smooth. I recommend using M mode and experiment with various shutter speed whilst keeping the F number at a constant value, for your lens leave it on f5.6 all the time and just adjust shutter from say 1/30sec to 1/80 sec indoors and see what you come out with - adjust ISO as well as you'll soon notice how shutter speed relates to ISO and then with aperture values in any given scene :)

Also I Finally I got round to painting my very scratched laptop lid!

Hey what are those little screens up in the right hand corner they look cool...just wondering what they are, are they screens, i've been looking for something like that...

I went for the Cambridge Audio Azur 540r AV receiver. All my music comes from the computer and I figured getting an AV receiver made more sense with regards to future upgrades etc, in my situation anyway. If it was strictly stereo I was after and I had a good separates CD player to play CD's then I would have gone for the NAD for sure.
