skinnable alt. file manager?

Recommended Posts

I hope I have the right section for this.

Does anyone know of a skinnable file manager? Windows is getting excentric no matter what I do to fix it and I would like to find an alternative that doesn't force me to go back to something where I can't customize the look (like changing the VS in Windows). I have XP.

TIA

UltraExplorer is not bad. Yet it's also so functional.

I should also say that I haven't used neither UltraExplorer nor Xplorer2 since I installed QT Tabbar and AdressBar etc.

Thanks ufubo, I really appreciate your suggestions.

Xplorer2's proposed skinning option looks limited to icon customization. Too bad. Ultraexplorer is extremely interesting but, themeing may have to be done from scratch. It looks intimidating since I've had no experience doing that. I sent an email to the developer to find out how "over my head" this all might be.

If anyone has other suggestions I'd like to see them.

Just heard from Ultraexplorer and that appears to be a dead end too. Themeing has barely been implimented. I'm still open, even if it's only to tell me there's nothing out there.
