JWilliams
I'm sure some of you are awar that opera's default tab behavior is to switch to previous tab when closing current. Is there a way to switch this to next tab? It's about the only thing keeping me from using opera all the time. I'm using Opera 9.5 beta
Dogan
Was asked here earlier: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=549505 The solution: http://my.opera.com/Tamil/blog/close-curre...-go-to-previous
serious
In other words, enter Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Shortcuts and duplicate the Mouse standard. Select the copy and choose Edit. Extend the Application tree and double click the Action column in the GestureDown, GestureRight row. Edit to "Close page & Switch to next" and you're done. Perhaps you need to edit the Advanced > Tabs entry as well to "Cycle in tab bar order", that's however how I've set it :) Of course you can edit all gestures in the Shorcut options. I've set the Down, Right gesture to simply "Close tab" and then added Down, Right, Up to "Close tab & Switch to next" as well as Down, Right, Down to "Close tab & Switch to previous"
JWilliams
Thanks... looks like that the button shortcut might be the best way to go but you would think Opera would get with the program and do it the way everyone else does.
halcyoncmdr
I prefer Opera's default behavior to be honest. IF I open a page in a new tab, it will go to the end of the tab bar in all browsers. However, only Opera will reopen the previous tab when you close that one. If you open a popup from the far left tab, the new one opens on the right. If there are tabs in between, you have to click back to the first. I'd rather it reopens what I was doing before, chances are that is what I wanted to go back to more often than not.
