dmd3x
Is activating/registering Windows XP absolutely necessary? Will it still work if you don't?
+BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted January 24, 2003 Subscriber¹ Share Posted January 24, 2003 Activating YES ... It will work for 30 days, then you will be forced to Activate or have a non-functioning machine. Dont know exactly what happens after the 30days, as never left it that long, I always activate when (re)installing.
Deron Dantzler
For 30 days. If you can't actually do it because of obvious reasons just PM me and I'll help you out. :).
+primortal Subscriber² Posted January 24, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted January 24, 2003 After 30 days you cannot log in at all. You are forced to activate either over the internet or by phone.
dmd3x
I'll do it by phone, I guess. The comp is just a gaming machine, and it has no modem.
ramesees
well if you leave your computer on during the crossover period (ie at the end of the 30-days until you go past it) your computer will still work, trust me I've done it Obivously if you log out then you'll be told to activate before you can log in, but if you leave it on and dont activate you can still use it normally :)
Samoa
Wow, I never knew that. Since I immediately activate when I reinstall. ;)
