Cormier6083
Hey guys. I have a very old Pentax K1000 film camera from the 70's. The problem is that I get these really grainy pictures. I'm using normal Kodak 400 ASA/ISO film, and a 55mm lens, the one that shipped with the camera. I recently got it fixed an cleaned by a professional, so I don't think it's dirty. I don't have a flash, yet, but I was getting adequate light. Thanks in advanced. Also, can anyone refer me to a cheap, PC sync flash? Nothing expensive. Huleboeren
Could it be that it is very old and from the 70's ? :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/614726-pentax-k1000-film-camera-grainy-pics/#findComment-589149063 Share on other sites

Aperture
Grain isn't through dirt, its through the grade of film you use. Ilford 400 compared to Kodak 400 will even show different degrees of grain. You need an ISO100. You must remember the K1000 is merely a lightbox, it all depends entirely on the film you use. +StevoFC MVC Posted January 20, 2008 MVC Share Posted January 20, 2008 I used to shoot in Fuji 200 speed film...good for outdoor shots and good enough for indoor. 400 is why it's grainy most likely. Rappy Veteran Posted January 20, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 20, 2008 Some of the older cameras are classic. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/614726-pentax-k1000-film-camera-grainy-pics/#findComment-589149727 Share on other sites
Cormier6083
^ Especially the K1000. Legend. And K mount lenses are increasingly difficult to find. Well, I'll try the 200. See if that helps. Thanks guys. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/614726-pentax-k1000-film-camera-grainy-pics/#findComment-589150025 Share on other sites
