J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

^I didn't believe that so I checked it out. Turns out that 5 days after Dashel posted that, she pasted away :s She already completed her role for this movie though.

LOS ANGELES?Majel Barrett Roddenberry, the widow of "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry who nurtured the legacy of the seminal science fiction TV series after his death, has died. She was 76.

Roddenberry died of leukemia Thursday morning at her home in Bel-Air, said Sean Rossall, a family spokesman.

At Roddenberry's side were family friends and her son, Eugene Roddenberry Jr.

Roddenberry was involved in the "Star Trek" universe for more than four decades. She played the dark-haired Number One in the original pilot but metamorphosed into the blond, miniskirted Nurse Christine Chapel in the original 1966-69 show. She had smaller roles in all five of its television successors and many of the "Star Trek" movie incarnations, although she had little actual involvement in the productions.

She frequently was the voice of the ship's computer, and about two weeks ago she completed the same role for the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie "Star Trek," Rossall said.

That's not a new trailer actually. It was released shortly after the Novermber trailer was to like Startrek.com subscribers or something similar. It's an old trailer, but still awesome to see Nimoy since none of the trailers on TV have shown him yet.

'Next Gen' characters in 'Trek' movie?

Characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation have been rumoured to appear in J.J. Abrams's upcoming prequel movie for the franchise.

At the IDW conference at WonderCon, Latino Review claimed that a panellist suggested the plot from the recent Countdown comics would lead into Star Trek.

The panellist reportedly said: "The end of issue four is a cliffhanger and is going to continue in the first few minutes of the movie."

When asked if that meant Next Generation cast or characters would appear in the film, the panel member responded: "I really cannot say anything about that."

However, fansite TrekMovie claims that its sources confirmed that there would be no Next Generation cameos in the upcoming film.

Last month, Abrams said that the new film was "not made for Trekkies", but instead designed for future fans of the series.

so they are going to make another series?

they better find another Gene Roddenberry because ST: Enterprise was pretty bad. it lost touch with the heart of star trek, new technologies and epic adventures; not invisible chameleon aliens from the future

a (Y) for the new trailer though. it's much more non-treky friendly than the others :D

That's no Star Trek I know. Part of me is a little saddened, yet another part is very interested to see where this new direction will lead.

I'm most interested in the line, "James T. Kirk was a great man. But that was another life."

Most turned off by lines like, "I hope you know what you're doing." made worse by, "So do I." (Not something I expected Kirk to reply with.) And, "Fire everything!!!" screamed like a desperate child...

about the James T. Kirk another life thing: "In the far reaches of the galaxy, a machine of war bursts into existence in a place and time it was never meant to be."

based on that description, the advanced technology of the enemy ship (can destroy planets) and what they did with the Enterprise series, i'm very sad to come to the conclusion of time travel. again.

god i hate time travel, it's such a cop-out  except for save the whales. that movie was just epic :D

Well, he has just been put in charge of a Starship for the first time in his life, I think I'd be a bit nervous myself, even if I was a cocky ******. :p
