Actor Neil Jackson has landed a role as a henchman called Mr Slate in the 22nd James Bond film "Quantum of Solace".

The 31 year-old actor was recently added to the film's entry on IMDB. Although being far from reliable for facts during production, the casting was confirmed by Jackson himself.

Writing on his MySpace page back on Friday 9th November, Jackson wrote "I have just received confirmation that I will be playing the role of Mr. Black in the up-coming Bond movie, tentatively titled Bond 22, set to start shooting in Jan 08."

His character was renamed during pre-production to Mr Slate.

Jackson updated his MySpace blog on Wednesday 19th December with the news, "I finalized contracts a few days ago to play the role of Mr. Slate in the new, as yet untitled, Bond film. Details are a little sketchy at this point, but I do have a big fight with 007".

Jackson, a former amateur boxing champion, has previously appeared in the 2005 epic "Alexander" as well as TV series "Blade" and "Stargate SG-1".

I've been dying for this movie. Casino Royale did for the Bond franchise what Batman Begins did for the Batman franchise. Gave it new blood and different take than the previous movies. Casino Royale was one of the best bonds I've seen (nothing has replaced Goldeneye just yet) I'm really looking forward to the new one, and Daniel Craig is a really good bond, I thought he played the role perfectly. I just hope this one has more action in it because Casino Royale didn't that much, just a few kickass scenes.

New Bond girl Olga Kurylenko has revealed that she is comfortable with appearing nude onscreen.

The actress, who will star in 22nd 007 movie Quantum of Solace, added that she would happily strip off in the Bond movie if the producers requested it.

She is quoted as saying: "I've never had a problem going topless or being naked for a film. When you're on the beach you're almost naked anyway.

"It was the same with my naked scenes in Hitman, which I did last year. I sent my body double back because I wanted to do the scenes myself.

"If they want me to strip off for Bond, that's fine."

AMY WINEHOUSE could be in line to sing the next JAMES BOND theme tune, according to reports.

An article in the Sun states that the BACK TO BLACK singer will follow in the footsteps of SHIRLEY BASSEY, MADONNA and TINA TURNER by recording a song for the hit movie franchise- if she can stay sober for two months.

The newspaper quotes a source as saying "That's when the Bond people make a final decision on who sings the theme. If Amy is clean then, it's hers."

However, DANIEL CRAIG, who will be reprising his role as 007 for QUANTUM OF SOLACE, has refuted these claims, telling MTV News: "Why is everybody ramming (the name) AMY WINEHOUSE about, it's just way, way off that."

He added that there are other things regarding the movie to sort out and there is no point writing a song for a film that does not yet exist.

Come on this is a direct sequel get Chris Cornell to sing the theme again, it was pretty good and a lot better than the last few themes used in the Brosnan films.

I agree, I thought he did the theme really well, and I think it suited the film.

Even if they didn't get him to do it again, it at least needs to be in the same sort of style, especially the title sequence which I thought was great.

Al Pacino will be making a cameo appearance in QOS.

I'm betting he will be playing the head of the "organization". A Blofeld like/type character.

Wow great casting!
