"Nightmare on Elm Street" Remake

I'm still really hoping for the best on this one.

I don't think anyone is arguing the phenominal credit Robert Englund deserves for his portrayal of the character.

But at the same time, until I watched the new Batman movie... I would have argued Jack Nickolson was THE Joker.

As far as the current spew of remakes goes, this is looking like one i will actually watch.

I was hoping for a more 'back story' approach, but judging by the trailer and the nods toward classic scenes, seems we wont be getting it.

I think it's a brilliant choice of actor to play Freddy, yes i'm with most people on the whole "Robert Englund IS Freddy' but he himself said he is through playing Freddy and with the correct casting (which seems to have happened) there is no reason why the character can't be as strong.

I do hope they keep all the smart arse quips and comments that made Freddy scary in the first place, nothing scarier than knowing your friendly local serial killer is also intelligent :o

I'll be keeping a close eye on this, i still remember when i saw the first one *shudder*

It's Official I WANT to have SEX with this movie!!!

Actually, just the girls! :p

Man, look at ALL these young stars in this movie - This Kyle Gallner is in all these movies :) Come back to this Awesome season of Smallville, Speedy Punk! j/k (Inside joke about his role in Jennifer's Body)

Seriously, this remake may not get good critical reviews, but I love who they have casted to be in this and hopefully these actors make it GOOD enough!!!

One other note, the composer for the music of this movie is the SAME dude who did the music for Transformers/Friday The 13th - I WANT to hear the music now.

I LIKE him!!!
