Guitar Hero 64 bit

Yep. It just runs under WOW64. All it means is that it's not native x64 code.

EDIT - I actually run it myself, just got it, and it runs like a charm (yes, I do have Vista x64). I get 50FPS on full high settings, 1920x1200 on a laptop. It's awesome. I'm actually on easy, in the Pete's Inferno or whatever place...

Alright, thanks for the quick response

Anyone know if you can use a PS3/360 guitar hero 3 controller on the PC?

I'm getting a console version, but I suspect the PC version will easily get modded to support custom tracks and I'd love to play the PC if it does.

Therefore I'd like to know if any of the console guitars would work :)

I can play GH3 on XP x64 perfectly fine, even if it is laggy (but I think thats because my PC sucks, not the x86 code)

I'd guess that with the wireless PC receiver the 360's guitar would work on the PC, but I can't confirm that... I use my GH2 controller because I don't have a wireless receiver thingy.

Got the game. It installed with no problems on my 64 bit vista. Runs flawlessly, controller was instantly recognized. I don't know why they say it's not 64 bit compatible...

Game plays max settings, never any lag at all, my friend was saying it lagged on his 8800 and he was either full of crap or something wrong with his setup. Game is performing no different than the 360 one.

Many thanks for posting this!

I've been wanting to "play" Guitar Hero III on my PC for basically as long as it's been out. But stayed away due to hearing about the incompatibility with Vista x64, and the lag.

As I'm running a similar setup as yours, this is great news. I'll probably order it in a few days.. :)

Enjoy (Y)
