Astronomers predict total lunar eclipse

Get ready for some wild sights in the night sky February 20 -- Wednesday night's total lunar eclipse not only happens at a decent hour of the early-to-mid evening for us viewers across North America (unlike other passes in recent years), it also includes a close encounter with the planet Saturn.

No, the Moon isn't set to collide with the great ringed world (Saturn is about a billion km from Earth and our Moon), but Saturn will appear near our neighbour in space, as it turns an eerie orange in the Earth's shadow.

Unfortunantly, im in kansas and its cloudy tonight!! Thats bummer here.

A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the night of Wednesday, February 20/21, 2008. The entire event is visible from South America and most of North America (on Feb. 20) as well as Western Europe, Africa, and western Asia (on Feb. 21). During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.

anyway its bloody freezing outside, but the sight is nice! will go back when it 1/2 of moon in 30 mins :D

It's 3:40 am here in the UK and the moon is 100% not visible :(

Had my digital video camera (30x optical zoom) and compact digital camera (3x optical zoom) on a tripod on standby too :(

Here's my picture of it during partial eclipse that I took for my astrophysics class. You've got Saturn on the bottom left, and the blue Regulus on top.
